ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Final Trailer Takes Us To The Motorball Track For An Exciting New Look At The Movie

20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for the James Cameron-produced big-screen adaptation of Battle Angel Alita, and this is without a doubt the most impressive look at the movie we've had yet.

As promised, a brand new trailer for James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez's live-action/CGI hybrid adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel is now online, and this is easily the best look we've had at the 20th Century Fox film so far.

Boasting vastly improved VFX (though Alita's eyes may still take some getting used to), the footage finds our titular amnesiac cyborg (Rosa Salazar) taking the fight to Mahershala Ali and Ed Skrein's sinister villains as she decimates the competition on the Motorball track.

We also get first glimpses of the supporting characters played by Jennifer Connolly and Jackie Earle Haley.

Visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY) create a groundbreaking new heroine in ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an action-packed story of hope, love and empowerment. Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita (Rosa Salazar) is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in.

Everything is new to Alita, every experience a first. As she learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield Alita from her mysterious past while her street-smart new friend, Hugo (Keean Johnson), offers instead to help trigger her memories. A growing affection develops between the two until deadly forces come after Alita and threaten her newfound relationships. It is then that Alita discovers she has extraordinary fighting abilities that could be used to save the friends and family she’s grown to love. Determined to uncover the truth behind her origin, Alita sets out on a journey that will lead her to take on the injustices of this dark, corrupt world, and discover that one young woman can change the world in which she lives.

Alita: Battle Angel opens February 14, 2019 and also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Eiza Gonzalez, Jackie Earle Haley, and Christoph Waltz.

This movie actually looks half decent and I thought the first trailer didn’t look good at all.

Plus Mahershala is a king and is imo worth the price of admission alone.

Although when I saw Overlord this past weekend there were a few people giggling and asking why she had huge cartoon eyes.

I'm pretty pumped for this. I know nothing of the source material, so my expectations are probably a little tempered. It's got some good actors, directors, and producers involved.

No doubt it will flop. I know it's bases on comics, but who greenlights these things? Don't they ever learn?

I actually don't think it'll bomb. It probably didn't cost that much to make and presales will already have paid for it by the time it hits theaters, plus all the people who loves Ready Player One will eat it up, without counting all the anime and animation fans. It probably won't be a success, but not a failure either. It might even do way better than most expect.

@guyatadesk - That much, really? I was expecting half of that at best. Oh, well.

@Asturgis - with visuals like that, this film probably cost a lot to make. But I don't think it will flop, its probably going to do well in at least the Asian markets.

The one thing that this has going for it that similar, recent films have not (Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner 2049, Valerian) is that it’s selling a pretty comprehensible story... a straight-forward hero, obvious villains, etc. I think that will improve its chances.

However, the visuals on this one probably do more harm than they did for the others... I’m getting used to that huge eye character design, but there is still something off-putting about it all.

For the people engaging in the box office gold or bomb debate I feel like you are overlooking the biggest factor here and that’s James Cameron’s involvement. Love him or hate him, everything he touches makes money and this will be no different

This movie looks awesome, but, sadly, will most-likely bomb.

Honestly it's got some pretty impressive visual moments. I wonder how it will turn out though. Other than the visuals and action it doesn't seem all that impressive.

Off topic, did anyone else see Gwenyth Paltrow's "tribute" to Stan Lee? Yikes!

@Oberlin4Prez - Not very wise on her part (wouldn't have been so hard to do a separate post), but Armie Hammer's response has been the worst in my opinion.
