ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Has Been Officially "Certified Fresh" By Rotten Tomatoes

The first wave of reviews for Ant-Man and The Wasp were extremely positive so it probably won't surprise you to learn that the sequel has managed to land a coveted "Certified Fresh" label from Rotten Tomatoes. This isn't too much of a shocker because Marvel Studios is on something of a winning streak with the review aggregator but it's bound to help the sequel when it debuts in North America.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is the 18th movie from Marvel Studios to be "Certified Fresh" and the twelfth in a row to receive the honour. With a score of 85%, the follow-up has just managed to beat its predecessor (which was released back in 2015) which finished things with 82%. For comparison's sake, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Guardians of the Galaxy have 83% so the movie has good company.

I remember being really excited for the first one and not really caring for it. My expectations are super low this time, so hopefully I'll enjoy this more. It's not that the first one was bad, just didn't live up to what I hoped it would be. I got the AMC A-list so if it sucks at least I'm not out any extra money.

The article should say 'Avengers Infinity War' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' have 83%, not 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'

Wonder how much Disney ponied up for this certified rating?
JustAChillFan
JustAChillFan - 7/3/2018, 6:55 AM
@KindredMac - It's gotta be at least more than one WB paid themselves for their score right?

@JustAChillFan - I imagine it is a pretty penny worth of perks since Disney has more to offer than Warner Bros. From passes to the parks to cruises to exclusive perks, it's an open secret that Disney likes to stack the cards in their favor.

The only problem I have with it is the fact that people eat, live, sleep and die by what RT has a movie pegged at and will outright refuse to see a movie if the rating is low, like a mindless drone.

@KindredMac - Jesus, you actually believe that? There is no "open secret" so I have no idea where you got all this from. Seriously people make up shit and people like you believe it because they can't fathom that other people genuinely liked a bunch of movies. Stop making excuses for you not thinking the same as other people, it's a natural thing to be different and to think different.
