ANT-MAN Actress Evangeline Lilly Reveals She's Been Fitted To Suit Up As 'The Wasp'

Though the ending of Ant-Man suggested big things, the future of Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) in the MCU currently remains in question. However, comments from the actress certainly indicate a superheroic reappearance for the character. Come check it out.

The Ant-Man mid-credits scene made it quite clear that Hope van Dyne (played by Lost's Evangeline Lilly) would follow in the footsteps of her mother and become a new incarnation of the Wasp, though when exactly that will take place remains up in the air. The two-part Avengers: Infinity War is the likely candidate, as Kevin Feige explained that the character is not making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Well, whatever plans Marvel has for Hope appear to be developing, as the actress revealed to fans on Facebook that she's been fitted and scanned for her own superhero costume.

The official word was that Hope was supposed to be included in Civil War alongside Paul Rudd's Scott Lang, but the large cast of characters in the film meant she would be underserviced, so Hope was removed. Considering there's already a Wasp suit ready to go, perhaps we'll see Lilly return sooner rather than later... an Ant-Man sequel slotted in to Phase Three, anybody? Regardless, feel free to share your thoughts on seeing Lilly suit up as the Wasp, and speculate as to where and when in the MCU she'll pop up.

For supposedly having such a big role in Phase 3, it's kind of funny to me she'll likely only appear in Infinity War. I still think she'll be in Civil War in some capacity

I liked her in Ant-Man! If I watch it often enough I might forget/forgive her part in destroying The Hobbit...

Nice, that flashback scene with Janet was amazing, can't wait to see more Wasp, even if it's Hope. She was great as Hope too, I definitely felt with her and she had good chemistry with Lang and Pym

I want Yellowjacket to influence this version of Wasp so we can get that iconic yellow/black suit look. They perfected Janet's classic suit in Ant-Man!

I honestly wasn't wowed by Hope's proto-Wasp suit; I'm hoping for something closer to the Yellowjacket design, like @dylanmm5 said.

She should be part of another LOTR trilogy placed between Hobbit 3 & The Fellowship of the Ring. Bilbo, Gandalf and Elrond should appear in the background but the main story should be about Legolas looking for Aragorn, then some important stuff with Aragorn. Lots of action and trolls and orcs and CGI. Tauriel should appear a lot, she should fall in love with another dwarf just to make Legolas cry like a baby.

Also does anyone think that we'll see Eric O'Grady or the Black Ant?? Because who will be the villain for the sequel. Unless they Make Eric the Black Ant

True, good call. As far-fetched as it may be, haha, I'm still hoping we see a time-traveling Pym eventually. Old Man Pym rocks and Douglas is awesome but I would love to see a younger Pym in the MCU

Pym is such an amazing character, I really hope they explore him more, plus Douglas is getting older

Not a huge fan of that costume, but I am a huge fan of the idea that wasp will be a big deal in phase 3. Evangeline Lilly was a pleasent surprise in Ant-Man.

I liked how she was handled in the film. It starts off making us think she's loyal to Yellow Jacket and on the path to becoming the Red Queen before revealing otherwise.

@staypuffed Heads up bro, Lilly said this last month. The fitting took place while she was filming Ant-Man, as opposed to recently.

Wonder if her pregnancy kept her out of Civil War. They'll never reveal that if it's true. It is unfortunate that she isn't in the film. Her and her dads point of view on heroes is a important perspective to the overall argument.

@DrKinsolving No need for time travel. Just need a 70s Netflix 6-episode miniseries of Hank and Jan on missions. Or Hank on missions and the major arc of the first season is Janet becoming wasp. Then the series, as 6-episodes each can lead year by year upto Janet's heroic "Bucky-moment". I know I wanted a 60s/70s Agents of Atlas Agent Carter-length series but after watching Ant-Man it really made me want to see a Hank and Jan 70s spy-hero show.

@TheEpicJuicebox Why does it have to be O'Grady? Why Black Ant? Yet another powered-suit stolen idea villain? Iron Man 2 wasn't enough? Why can't it be Egghead sponsored by AIM or even The Scarlet Beetle? Now that would be unusual to watch. Anthropomorphic psychic giant beetle vowing to annihilate mankind with it's swarms? The insect rebellion is upon us! But secretly... he is Annihilus' long lost cousin! And that should take care of the soap opra element of the movie. ;P

Totally, that would be cool, but if Marvel ever gets the rights back to Kang, there will definitely be a need for a time-traveling Pym
