Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is shaping up to be an Avengers-level event movie, with Kang the Conqueror finally set to make his presence felt in the MCU.
We obviously met He Who Remains in Loki, and we'll soon meet many more Variants, but this one...well, he may just end up being this shared world's new big bad. During a recent interview with Total Film, Scott Lang actor Paul Rudd described the villain as "a formidable foe," but noted that's "the understatement of the century."
"Scott’s never faced anybody like this. He’s Kang the Conqueror! Thanos is obviously the closest but, yeah, he doesn’t have any of the other [Avengers] gang with him," he continues. "How do you go about stopping somebody like that? It’s not easy. Whether or not Scott is even successful people will see."
"I think that hopefully the emotion, and wanting to do what he’s trying to do, makes sense to an audience. Hopefully they’ll be rooting for me."
A new still from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has also been released, and it shows Kang looking surprisingly casual and relaxed while sitting on his Time Chair.
Take a closer look at that in the Tweet below.
In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.
