wow he never struck me as an actor that would try and get more money for a role. Really Mr. Rudd? Does he not know that if he plays ant man, and does it well, that sets him up for a string of successful sequels and more paydays? I really like him too, I Love You man is one of my fav flicks

As far as I see it, the man shouldn't be asking for more money... Hell, he should be begging for the role. He's been doing all these straight-to-the-shitter artsy films. Seriously, he has like 5 coming out every year now. He needs a boost and Ant-Man is the perfect way to do so but if he's gonna be that way.... And it's not that Marvel is cheap, I mean, the dude is doing no-budget artsy-fartsy movies. Like he gives a [frick] about a paycheck.

that is of course if he wanna sign Marvel contract. Maybe he will feel more happy playing in some underground movies, than rather be tied to a franchise.

Ha! I wish I could find a gif that can portray how ridiculous that statement is but there is nothing I can find, but okay hey maybe Marvel can cast Will Ferrell as Dr Strange next or Seth Rogan as Daredevil. LOL

Rudd is actually a very good actor, underrated IMO.

Affleck has the acting skills of a lubricated door knob.

ok, scratch that "period".

But ... i still think Paul is better than Affleck.
Neverless ... i won't judge Affleck untill i see the new Superman movie.

If he will give his best Ben's Batman will be decent. Nothing spectacular. I don't believe in miracles.

I'd wager that all the people who have pissed Marvel off (and are now basically blacklisted from the MCU) regret making the demands they made.

Ben's better but the Academy awards aren't really credible.

It could be truth. Marvel has a history of getting unknown actors to sign multi-picture contracts with not very high salaries (at least not when you think about the average box office of their films).

This has worked more or less ok with the current stars because they were relative unkowns. Rudd, while not a big star, is an actor with a long career in comedy, has a lot of work and his films are usually cheap and make a profit (Our Idiot Brother had him as the star and made 25M in USA with a 5M budget).

So he has some room to negotiate a slightly better paycheck. Plus, he has a lot of work and a multi-picture deal might be what he really wants. I suspect Marvel wants to go with a kind of recognizable face because they fear Ant-Man could do not so well. Wright, while and excellent filmaker, is not a very profitable one, and Ant-Man may be a tough sell to the GA, though I think the Marvel brand will be enough.

Who knows. I'd like to see him in the film. We had one report of a similar case (Momoa for Drax, which ended up going to Batista). We still don't know if that worked out ok or not.

@BatmanRobinNightwing

his got 2 oscars but non of them for acting.
Besides awards doesn't make you a better actor. There are many actors out there who should get Oscar for their performances but wasn't even nominated.

Also there are many actors who should not even been nominated, yet they somehow manage to leave the red carpet holding the award in their both hands.

Marvel's looking for the next RDJ -- funny, commanding, a presence, likeable, mischievous. Rudd may or may not be that guy, but it's a good move. Rudd is ready. If this is true, dude, just load it on the back end (which is what she said) with perks -- points, blah blah. It's going to blow you up, global. Maybe he doesn't want that...?

@batmanrobinetc... I respect Affleck as a storyteller and director. But actor...he's okay; I think Rudd is better. Comedians often times turn into really good dramatic actors.

@NPaMusic

I might have expressed myself incorrectly, sorry about that.

I meant to say that Rudd is actually NOT an unknown, that's why I mentioned his long career in comedy and the fact that he has a lot of work as arguments he could have to request a better salary.

On the other hand, Hemsworth was a soap opera actor before Thor. Hiddleston had a lot of work but nothing really big. Evans had a little bit more success, but nothing too big either. And they are the ones that headline Marvel's main films, and before they were cast, they were relative unkowns. RDJ obviously isn't in this category, and neither are the big-name actors that Marvel tends to get as villains (which do not enter in my argument since they usually have small roles, and rarely for more than one film).

I hope this post clears out the confusion.

By the way, lovely way to point it out. You misunderstood my opinion (which could be my fault as English is not my first language) and your reaction was to say "You're argument is invalid" (btw, "your") as a way to what... shut me up? Maybe it wasn't your intent, in which case I apologize if this comment sounded antagonistic.
