AQUAMAN 2: Patrick Wilson Teases His Return As Ocean Master With New Instagram Photo

With Aquaman 2 set to begin shooting fairly soon, star Patrick Wilson has begun training for his return as the villainous(?) King Orm, aka Ocean Master. Check out the actor's new Instagram post...

Amber Heard recently took to social media to tease her return as Mera for the upcoming Aquaman 2, and costar Patrick Wilson has now followed suit with an Instagram post of his own.

We got confirmation that Wilson was set to reprise the role of King Orm, aka Ocean Master, for James Wan's DC Comics sequel during the DC FanDome event last year, and the Watchmen actor has now begun his training regime in anticipation of production getting underway.

He captioned his photo with the hashtags #guesswhosbackormisback and #brothersdontshakehandsbrothersgottahug. Could this be taken as a hint that Orm and Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) will be on the same side this time?

Ocean Master laid down his trident and allowed himself to be led away by the Atlanteans at the end of the first film, and there's been a lot of speculation that he'll ultimately wind up joining forces with his half-brother to combat a larger threat. Black Manta, perhaps?

We still don't know what to expect from the plot, but it's assumed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's vengeful David Hyde will be the main villain this time. There's also a good chance that The Trench will feature more prominently, given director James Wan's fondness for the deep-sea terrors.

We recently found out that Game of Thrones alum Pilou Asbaek was in final talks to join the cast, though no details on his role were provided.

Aquaman 2 is set to swim into theaters on December 16, 2022.

First was ALMOST there for me. Cast was having a lot of fun, action scenes were cool and had great production design. Just wish it wasn’t a bunch of bloated fetch quests tied together by awful exposition with every scene ending with a sneak attack.

Black Manta as the main villain and is such a threat that Arthur needs Orm to help him? I don't think so.

Boo.

@SummersEssex - dude Manta done right and with the resources like he had in young justice season 2 would be freaking epic! Black Manta is easily one of the best DC villains and by far aquamans best villain

Would be fun to see him again. He was definitely one of the highlights in the first one.

Aside from Black Manta and Mera, I actually liked all the characters in the first one. They all overshadowed Mamoa in some way, even though Mamoa was a joy to watch as well.

I wish they had gone with the pre-52 version of Ocean Master where he was fully human and studied Atlantean sorcery to take on his brother. Making him just another Atlantean was kind of a boring and uncreative change that Johns made.

The best part of the movie outside of the visuals.

He owned the screen whenever he showed up

Great villains, but a terrible movie.

The main duo was miscast, and it had almost nothing to do with the New 52 Comic it was coming from.

I can't choose what is the worst: Aquaman, Birds, or Green Lantern?

Didn't like Ocean Master, but his suit... Jesus, what an amazing suit. Costume designers in this movie were on another level.

It's amazing. This movie made all the money and yet it's all the other D.C./Warner Brothers movies that get all the press on here.
