CinemaCon has begun in Las Vegas, and while we're hoping for at least a handful of announcements, there are some posters currently on the show floor that have caught our attention.
Chief among them is a new teaser banner for Aquaman and the Long Kingdom. As you can see, it doesn't reveal much, though it does appear to harken back to a piece of concept art shared by director James Wan in which a mysterious monster could be seen seemingly frozen inside.
We're sure that will be a key plot point in the movie, though very little has been revealed about what we can expect.
There have been rumblings the Aquaman sequel has performed poorly at test screenings, and it remains unclear whether the King of Atlantis will have a place in the new DCU. Jason Momoa has strongly hinted that he's going to play Lobo, and after James Gunn and Peter Safran said they won't have actors playing two characters, this may mark Arthur Curry's farewell.
While a trailer for the movie will likely be shown to those attending CinemaCon, we're not necessarily baking on it being released online. You never know, though, so you'll want to keep checking back here for updates this week.
In Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, when an ancient power is unleashed, Aquaman must forge an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally to protect Atlantis, and the world, from irreversible devastation.
The movie stars Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Nicole Kidman (Atlanna), Patrick Wilson (Orm), Amber Heard (Mera), Yahya Adbdul-Mateen II (Black Manta), and Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus), along with newcomers in the form of Pilou Asbæk, Vincent Regan, and Indya Moore.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom arrives in theaters on December 20, later this year.
