AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM Rounds Out Cast With Randall Park, Indya Moore, Jani Zhao & Vincent Regan

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Indya Moore (Queen & Slim; Pose), Jani Zhao (SentimentosSouth), and Vincent Regan (300Troy) have joined the cast of James Wan's upcoming DC superhero adventure, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Randall Park (Ant-Man and the Wasp; WandaVision) has also been confirmed to return, reprising his role as Dr. Stephen Shin from the first installment.

Moore is playing the DC Comics character Karshon, a tiger shark with telepathic abilities, while Regan will take on the role of Atlan, the ancient ruler of Atlantis. As for Zhao, she'll be playing an original character created for the movie named Stingray, but it's unclear whether she'll be a friend or foe to Arthur Curry and company.

In addition to the fan-favorite Jason Momoa as the titular DC superhero, the supporting cast will feature Amber Heard (Mera), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (David Kane/Black Manta), Patrick Wilson (Prince Orm Marius), Temuera Morrison (Tom Curry), and Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus). Game of Thrones alum Pilou Asbæk was previously the only announced newcomer, having joined the ensemble cast in an undisclosed villain role.

Still no confirmation on Nicole Kidman or Willem Dafoe, but it seems more probable than not that they'll all also be back in some capacity as Atlanna and Vulko, respectively.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.

@dracula - yeah Manta is definitely gonna get back at Arthur, and I don't want Thomas Curry to be the victim.

And if Mera is gone, they could bring in Hila (with a new actress)

If I had a nickel for every time an anthropomorphic shark villain showed up in a movie this year, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that its happened twice.

No idea who the new kids are, but glad Randall Park's back. I've liked him in pretty much everything I've seen him in.

OK, scratch that; I know who the guy playing Atlan is. He was the guy who was Leonidis' friend and his son got decapitated in 300.

Slightly off-topic: how many of you guys have seen Malignant? I don't think I've seen a lot of chatter about it on here.

@MUTO123 - Most batshit crazy thing I've seen in a long while

@MUTO123 - Yo. The doctor saying "Time to cut the cancer out" at the start of the movie (and it being a repeated line) basically ruined the reveal for me. The transition effects were kind of neat, and whoever Gabriel's actor deserves a round of applause for how much watching him hurt my joints.

@KingPatel - Oh son, if that's true allow me to introduce you to Prisoners of the Ghostlands and the films of Sion Sono. You'll hate me for it.

@KingPatel - Agreed. Wan really threw all caution to the wind with this one, and God bless him for it.

@MUTO123 -

Was not a fan. It was a bad film.

Wish he went full crazy but it felt like a film that went sideways in post.

Bad acting and predictable plot.💁

I do respect wann for trying❤

@MUTO123 - WB basically let him make a passion project. It was nuts and over the top entertainment for me. Harkening back to campy 80s/90s horror flicks with some Upgrade type action thrown in.

I could see Indya Moore playing the ruler of the lost kingdom. Her people began to idolize pagan gods. They were polytheists. They worshiped the great Kamo shark and others. When Atlan ignored her call for help, Karshon offered her womb to Kamo and Kamo offered Karshon eternal life as a shark to take revenge on the descendants of the Atlantean King.

@Repian - that sounds so specific that for some reason I start to suspect you already read the script

I can't believe the last movie had Orm, Black Manta and The Trench as the villains.
Wonder who the villains of this one will be?
