AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM's Blu-ray Release And Special Features Revealed - But What About Deleted Scenes?

Warner Bros. has revealed Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD release date, and while we have a full list of special features, there's currently no mention of any deleted scenes...

As we first reported earlier this week, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released on Digital platforms on Tuesday, January 23. Now, it's been revealed that Warner Bros. has set a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD debut for Tuesday, March 12.

The final DCEU movie's Digital release comes sooner than expected, especially as the Aquaman sequel is closing in on $400 million. However, these dates currently apply only to the U.S., meaning the movie is free to continue making money overseas in the weeks ahead (even with its run winding down).

ComicBook.com has shared the special features for the home entertainment release and, while there are heaps of featurettes on the disc, it appears we're not getting any deleted scenes or even a gag reel.

We'll let you know if that changes but it's a surprise seeing as the movie underwent multiple rounds of reshoots! Then again, Warner Bros. may not want us to see any of that...including the cameo roles once shot by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck.

Here are Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's current confirmed extras:

Finding the Lost Kingdom: Go behind the scenes as director James Wan reveals how he and the cast and crew pulled off their biggest endeavor yet, an epic sequel to the largest grossing film in the history of DC.

Aquaman: Worlds Above and Below: When the filmmakers set out to create a sequel that eclipsed the original in scale and scope, they knew they would have to send Arthur and the rest of the cast to all kinds of new wild and wonderful worlds both above and below the sea.

It's a Manta World: Black Manta is more powerful than ever now that he has discovered the Lost Kingdom of Necrus and taken possession of the Black Trident. From inspiration to execution, filmmakers reveal how they leveled Black Manta up to the realm of supervillains.

Necrus, The Lost Black City: Ages ago the great battle for the earth took place here, in this legendary lost Atlantean city. Discover how the filmmakers created the Black City from its "surface city" concept and its inhabitants: Undead Necrusians (Zombies), to its execution.

Escape from the Deserter World: From idea to execution, explore how the filmmakers created this barren desert landscape and the Deserter Prison, how its creatures and inhabitants were brought to life, and how they planned and executed the daring Orm "breakout" sequence.

Brawling at Kingfish's Lair: The Citadel is the last frontier of the ocean, a deep trench filled with sunken old ships, stacked high like a rusty city. From concept to completion, discover Kingfish's Lair, a bar within, where the worst of the worst hang out.

Oh TOPO!: The Tactical Observation and Pursuit Operative Octopus is a living legend and all-time fan favorite. Director James Wan and the filmmakers discuss the decision behind bringing TOPO back to the sequel and its promotion to Arthur's on-screen sidekick.

Jason Momoa is unlikely to return as Aquaman in any upcoming DCU projects and, given how often Arthur Curry was made fun of in the first season of Peacemaker, something tells us James Gunn isn't the character's biggest fan!

The actor may end up playing Lobo, though that's yet to be confirmed. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has made considerably less than its predecessor (over $700 million less, to be precise) so a lot of fans will surely end up checking it out at home instead.

Have you watched the movie yet?

The only reason I was half-planning on buying this is to see the deleted Keaton, Affleck and Death of a Prince scenes.

I have no interest in seeing the movie again.

Do people still buy DVDs and BlueRays? I mean, you can just stream it or purchase it digitally. Doesn't everyone have a computer these days? Or smartphone, tablet, or whatever else is going on?

@lazlodaytona - Some certainly still do although no idea how big the market is for them now. Folk still like having something physical they can have on their shelves for one thing but means you ALWAYS have it there to watch even if your internet goes down, bad weather impacts TV reception or simply becomes unavailable on any digital platforms.

@lazlodaytona - They should, I still do, I want to own the movie.

Movies and shows leave streaming services all the time and Disney is known to censor movies.

@lazlodaytona - Well there are those that buy steelbook covers and they're empty.
But they there are people who buy drugs too so. Who's to judge right?

@lazlodaytona - I often buy blurays and dvds if its classics and stuff that one might think will get censored in later releases. I dont trust the streaming services one bit.

@Beer85 - That is really smart. I actually can think of at least 10 titles I have on DVD that you can't find anywhere on streaming services. (love your username btw)

@lazlodaytona - you don’t own movies if you buy them digitally, you’re just paying for a license to watch that can be revoked whenever the distributor loses the license to distribute themselves or just simply doesn’t want to pay royalties. it can also be altered or censored without your knowledge.! if you buy a movie physically, you can basically keep it forever without any worries aside from ensuring nothing happens to the disc itself.
