AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM: Amber Heard Confirms Mera Return With Workout Video And Note From James Wan

Aquaman star Amber Heard has confirmed that she's quarantining in London before starting work on Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom with a new workout video and note from director James Wan. Check it out...

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is clearly about to start shooting in the UK, because star Amber Heard has shared a photo and workout video from quarantine.

This has to be an indication that cameras are going to be rolling imminently (if they're not already), and Heard is clearly making sure she's in fighting shape for her return as Mera. After that very public legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, there's been a lot of speculation Warner Bros. might recast the role, but it's been clear for a while now that wasn't going to happen.

Very little has been revealed about the Aquaman sequel. However, the title could be a dead giveaway (could we be heading to Necrus?), and it's no surprise Arthur Curry and Mera will be teaming up again. Their relationship was a big part of the 2018 movie and will likely continue to develop here.

We're not banking on seeing many set photos, but that will depend on whether director James Wan plans to shoot on location or if the majority of filming is going to take place in a studio.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, and Pilou Asbæk. A release date has been set for December 16, 2022, so keep checking back here for updates as we have them!
