Well, this is impressive! Avengers: Age of Ultron debuted with $27.6 million last night, a considerable amount more than The Avengers' haul of $18.7 million back in 2012.
That obviously indicates a huge weekend at the box office for the sequel, and those estimates of a record shattering $230 million total are looking more and more likely at this stage. The Marvel vs. DC fanboys should also be glad to hear that the movie broke the Thursday IMAX record of The Dark Knight Rises, taking $3 million compared to that threequel's still impressive $2.3 million.
So, where does Avengers: Age of Ultron stand right now? It's taken $27.6 million domestic, $287.3 million internationally, thereby giving it a worldwide total of $314.9 million. That's after just one week of release and less than 24 hours in North America. Have you seen the sequel yet?
Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson and is now in cinemas everywhere!
