Does Marvel Want Elizabeth Olsen For 'Scarlet Witch' In THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON?
According to a new report, Saoirse Ronan has decided to pass on the opportunity to play Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, so the studio have now turned their attention to Godzilla and Oldboy star Elizabeth Olsen.
In what can only be described as a very smart move by Marvel Studios, they have now set their sights on Elizabeth Olsen - who has been praised by critics for her performances in the likes of Martha Marcy May Marlene and Liberal Arts - for the role of The Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Bleeding Cool reports that Saoirse Ronan passed on the role, meaning that Olsen's name has now been brought up as their next top choice. The site adds that if the actress does decide to join the cast, she will need to adopt a "European" accent. While she may currently be best known for starring in smaller Indie films, Olsen will soon be seen in Oldboy and Godzilla (meaning that she will be far better known by the time the Joss Whedon helmed superhero movie is released).
