First Official Look At AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Via Entertainment Weekly Cover!

San Diego Comic-Con is right around the corner, and Entertainment Weekly's preview cover has revealed the first official look at Iron Man, Captain America, Ultron and his army in The Avengers sequel

Entertainment Weekly has unveiled its Comic-Con preview cover in anticipation of the San Diego convention next week, and it reveals the awesome first look at Robert Downey Jr. in his less-gold Iron Man armor, Chris Evans in his new Captain America uniform, and (most importantly), the titular Avengers: Age of Ultron villain, as well as his robot army. EW also reveals Ultron's origins, which essentially comes from Tony Stark being in need of a break from saving the world, having done so at least nine times. “What you said about abdication is apt, but I think it’s also about recognizing limitations,” says Downey Jr. when Entertaiment Weekly suggested that 'There’s no abdicating herois'. “The downside of self-sacrifice is that if you make it back, you’ve been out there on the spit and you’ve been turned a couple times and you feel a little burned and traumatized.” Stark creates Ultron as a "self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence designed to help assess threats, and direct Stark’s Iron Legion of drones to battle evildoers instead." However, the villainy starts when Ultron's intellect realizes the mankind would be safer without humans altogether, and therefore he tries to get rid of us. “Ultron sees the big picture and he goes, ‘Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better’; he’s not just going ‘Muhaha, soon I’ll rule!’” says Avengers: Age of Ultron writer/director Joss Whedon. “He’s on a mission; He wants to save us.” Check out EW's full cover below and expect many more goodies to be revealed leading up to next week's San Diego Comic-Con. What do you think?

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.
