I feel slightly dumber having listened to both videos. Fact is that each generation fewer people are interested in stuff that was around before they were born and there is no reason to make these films for kids, or kid accessible, because they have their own stories and characters they'd rather see made into big movies over anything Mom and Dad grew up with. So go ahead and make some R-rated films about last centuries Superheroes, not that it will matter what its rated cause a lot of parents bring their kids to R-rated movies anyway, but that's on them.

I couldn't watch the whole video. These kids disgust me. I mean really? Your 14 and you have never heard of the avengers? I'm 15 and I live in Greece. Fricking Greece. Where reading a comicbook after you are 7 years old is considered gay. Where collecting is childish. Where being a gamer and comic book fan leaves you alone. I learned it the hard way. Each and everyone of friends left me alone. Now I have 0 friends. From 10 to 0. And all that because I'm a gamer and cb fan. I don't give a shit about them now. And to get to my point how can I know almost everything and these kids who grew in America, practically the center of the world be so fricking clueless?

@kostisfire, chill out.You have to realize that most people don't read comics in America, especially kids and the only way most people learn about comic book characters is through TV and film.

Now, until the recent shows like Armored Adventures, Super Hero Squad and EMH, which started in 2009, there hasn't been an Avengers related TV show on the air since early 2000.

So, why would you expect kids under 14, who don't read comics, to really know anything about the Avengers if there hadn't been any Avengers on TV since before they were born?

What does growing up in America have to do with anything? It's not like comic books and their characters are part of the mainstream over here.Unless you're Superman, Batman or Spider-Man, you're not really that visible. These other heroes have only become slightly more known with the success of these movies over the last 3 or so years.

Believe me, it's the same over here as it is in Greece.Comic book collecting and playing video games are also considered "kids' stuff" by a majority of the population and you are looked down upon if you're really into them.Though I don't really think anyone is losing any friends over it.At least not anyone I know.

Anyway, you can ask the average adult American, and the only thing they can tell you about The Avengers is that it's a movie featuring these heroes. But that's about all they can tell you.

You know everything because you're a fan of comics, but other people don't because they aren't fans.I don't know if it's true for the rest of the world, but most Americans don't know anything about comic book characters outside of what they see in movies and TV shows.

It makes me laugh that these kids don't know who the Avengers are. But they know who Batman and superman is. And the nerve of people on this site to say "Marvel is winning"

All the Americans I know read comic books and you have more advertisements and stuff so I thought every kid could separate jl from the avengers. Thank god my dad grew up in Australia and introduced me to comics. He had all the batman and superman comics from the 70s and maybe 60s. Unfortunately my grandma burned them when they came back to Greece because she didn't know what they were. The only comic that has been saved is a pink panther one.

Ya! Fck social studies, times tables, and modern tech, these kids are all "stupid" cause they don't know the diff between the avengers and jla. Really!? I will cut some of you guys some slack cause I realize you could probably be their classmates.

leftcoastpunk - 4/23/2012, 9:55 PM
Just to clarify, I can tell some of you are just jokin' and goofin' around, and i'm all for that d;-). These kids actually seem pretty bright. "Why are they the avengers when there's nothing to avenge?" and the gal sayin that Cap 35 is gonna be set in a retirement home. Pretty witty and quick on their feet if you ask me.

WOW...these kids ACT soooo adult-like (well, most of em anyway)..

i have three, two boys and a baby girl. and being a comic book fan, i've been 'programming' the boys with super hero movies, they respond mostly well to the marvel-made ones AND spider-man trilogy.

but, somehow, they're more into godzilla, ultraman, ben10, transformers and HERO FACTORY. on the last one, i gotta say they ARE really well made and thought out toys.

but, they're still looking forward to The Avengers. i even make AVENGERS t-shirts for all of em, including my lovely wife for watching the movie, next week.
