Marvel Studios Drops Several MCU Trademarks But Keeps One That May Reveal Title Of Future AVENGERS Movie

Marvel Studios has withdrawn trademarks for several projects first revealed before last year's Comic-Con, but one raining title has fans convinced a future Avengers movie will be renamed. Check it out!

Shortly before last year's San Diego Comic-Con, eagle-eyed fans unearthed a series of trademarks filed by Marvel Studios. Those appeared to spoil announcements planned for their Hall H panel, something confirmed when Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Avengers: Secret Wars, and even "Multiverse Saga" were all revealed at the show.

Other trademarked projects weren't ultimately announced, including Celestials: End of Time, Shang-Chi and the Wreckage of Time, and The Black Knight: Origins. A few others, meanwhile, seemed to be alternate titles for those that were unveiled, including Captain America: Red White and Black and "Timeless Saga."

Today, it's been confirmed that Marvel Studios has decided to withdraw trademarks for the latter Saga title, "Eternity Saga," Nomad, and Runaways: New Era

This may mean a lot or very little. However, particularly noteworthy is the fact Avengers: Eternity Wars is still trademarked. Could that replace Avengers: The Kang Dynasty if Jonathan Majors and Kang the Conqueror are dropped from the MCU?

It's certainly possible, though we can't imagine anything has been decided yet. Still, with Marvel Studios looking to get back to quality over quantity, we wouldn't be surprised if a Nomad spin-off and the return of the Runaways are two of countless movies and TV shows which are no longer a priority.

Another compelling possibility is that Avengers: Eternity War is the sequel to Avengers: Secret Wars. While a third Avengers movie hasn't been announced, rumours have been swirling for the better part of a year about Secret Wars becoming a two-parter before a line-wide relaunch of the MCU.

The fact we haven't had an Avengers movie since 2019 has done little to help Marvel Studios recently, and while we're still years away from Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembling again, the anticipation should go a long way in guaranteeing the MCU delivers another mega-hit. It could do with one, that's for sure, and the team might be exactly what's needed to reignite interest in this franchise.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is currently scheduled for May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars set to follow on May 7, 2027. Given recent delays caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA stikes, those dates are likely to shift yet again.

Do you think we'll eventually see Avengers: Eternity Wars in theaters?

I really hope they dump Kang. He's completely ruined for me.

@LordHarryLatts - yeah. It's established Kang from quantumania was feared by the council of kangs and he was taken out by ants.

Only threat he poses is the fact there's an infinite number of them across the multiverse. But since they're so weak individually and just do things individually, them being infinite just comes across as them being a big pest infestation.

@LordHarryLatts - Fvck that. He Who Remains just proved how powerful he can really be. Folks aren't seeing the cards he's got up his sleeve.

@Origame - Giant super intellegient ants

its not like he got beaten by small sized ants

Origame - 11/13/2023, 11:52 AM
@eagc1995 - giant? Yes. Super intelligent? Yeah, but they didn't use that intelligence at all. They literally just fought him like any ants are supposed to do.

He's supposed to be capable of destroying entire universes and has killed avengers like Thor so frequently he can't even tell the difference between Thor and ant man.

Let's see what happens when Thor goes up against similar sized armies of similar comparable size to those ants.

@EskimoJ - lol. This movie was literally about him learning his power didn't come from his hammer.

Besides, what does this prove? Kang had access to his suit, which his greatest weapon.

@bobevanz - Why tf would I be joking? Did you not just see what HWR pulled in Loki S2? I tried telling y'all Kang and all his variants had a game plan all along. And come to find out, of course he does. Or "they" if we want to consider all the variants.

Manipulating time and all alternate realities is an insane power to have. Way beyond what Thanos was capable of.

How about you dump the people that write Kang instead? They're still around.

Or have you forgotten Batman And Robin, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, Superman III, etc?

The writer literally makes the character. The character doesn't make the writer!

The more I read, and the more of the recent Marvel content I see, the more I'm convinced that they need to focus on street level stuff. For example, not that I expect this to happen, but they could introduce a new, more comic accurate wolverine, and have a street level story involving organized crime, and the film could cost less than 80 million to make. I would be way more interested than that than the latest multiverse fan service, stuff everybody into a space epic crap show that will get next.

@Izaizaiza - 2 Wolverine ideas that could be produced fairly cheap and have the potential to be amazing:

1) Wolverine just escaped from Weapon X and is wandering the Canadian wilderness. Primary conflict is some bad dudes harassing a small town, featuring Wendigo and members of Alpha Flight.

2) Wolverine in Mandripoor fighting organized crime.

Izaizaiza - 11/13/2023, 10:42 AM
@mountainman - yeah man, those are two solid ideas! What’s more, I think, some characters, wolverine being one of them, work better and gritty down to earth stories like that. There literally doesn’t have to be a huge, FX filled action piece. Although, I want to see wolverine fight the Hulk as much as the next guy
mountainman
mountainman - 11/13/2023, 10:49 AM
@Izaizaiza - Technically Hulk could show up in that first idea. Imagine Hulk, Wolverine and Wendigo all going at it!

Wolverine (at least in his solo movies) does best in smaller more intimate stories. The Wolverine was great until the ridiculous ending robot battle. What if that would have been a more faithful adaptation of Silver Samuri that he battled at the end? And Logan was great too.

Save his bigger battles for the X-Men crossovers. With Hollywood having issues with declining box office revenues, there are going to have to be more superhero movies produced for sub $100 million.
Izaizaiza
Izaizaiza - 11/13/2023, 10:51 AM
@mountainman - agree on all points. Also, imagine if they tried to do a great crime, film, or even an international espionage film, focusing first, and foremost on the story… And then just happening to add a protagonist with the healing factor, metal claws, and unbreakable bones

mountainman - 11/13/2023, 10:53 AM
@Izaizaiza - Mentioning a marvel espionage film makes me think of the wasted potential of the Black Widow movie. The first half was soooo good. I wanted my MCU Mission Impossible/Bourne. And it could/should have been it! Argh to the necessity for giant CGI third act finales!

@mountainman - Idea #1 sounds awesome. Almost like a modern day version of Shane set in the Canadian Rockies. The MCU needs a western.

Izaizaiza
Izaizaiza - 11/13/2023, 2:26 PM
@mountainman - Yeah man, it's amazing that they haven't realized that every movie doesn't have to be that.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 11/13/2023, 3:39 PM
@mountainman - I always thought once we start getting the X-Men proper, we need to explore their origins JUST like this. Maybe it's a Special Presentation or whatever else that just gives us an origin. OR it could be a series called "Origins" (or whatever) with each episode exploring a different X-Man's origin story and how they find their way to Xavier. Then the first film could tie it all together and explore how the first team is assembled.

I had a similar idea for Gorr. Before Thor 4, since they didn't spend a lot of time showing Gorr actually butcher any gods, they could've done a short series with 10 minute episodes just following him on his journey to kill the different gods he was pursuing. Each episode simply titled the god of that episode. Then Thor 4 releases and you have the backstory covered. (And while I'm at it, get rid of the kid "Axle" and some of the other over cooked comedy.)

mountainman - 11/13/2023, 3:50 PM
@Tonic24k - Agree and disagree. While I would love one off showing X-Men origins, we’ve learned that the GA doesn’t like having to do D+ homework to understand the movies. So they’d need to be careful with how they do it.

The Gorr thing is a different issue. One of the biggest problems with L&T is that they tried covering the Jane story and Gorr story in the same movie. If it had been just Gorr, and they would have shown his butchering of gods on screen, he could have been better. How cool would the Omnipotence City sequence have been had Gorr interrupted it and started slaughtering?

Captain America:Red, White and Black would have gone down well.

They should have gone with it.

A-Force movie won't be happening now with how The Marvels is performing.

@marvel72 - Don’t have any expectations for the future man. We really don’t know how long these studios are going to want to keep making projects that most people don’t want to see.

marvel72 - 11/13/2023, 12:44 PM
@mountainman - It's their own fault, they think they can churn out any old shit and people will watch it.

They need to focus on making better quality products and not too many, next year will be great with just having Deadpool 3.

If they had develop the Kree and the Skrulls conflict better in the movies, adapting the classic "Kree-Skrull" War would've been cool.

@GodHercules20 - Yes. And the Skrulls are so divided. According to the movies, they are victim refugees. And most people haven’t seen Secret Invasion where their more villainous side was shown.
