POLL: Should Quicksilver And Scarlet Witch Appear In The Marvel Or Fox Cinematic Universe?

We now know that Joss Whedon has plans to use both Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch in The Avengers 2, but should the two mutants actually be left in the X-Men universe? Here's your chance to sound off with your thoughts and cast your votes!

The rights issues surrounding Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are more than a little complicated. Both Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox can use the brother and sister duo (due to the fact that they have been members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants AND The Avengers), but it's widely assumed that the former would not be allowed to refer to the fact that they are mutants or related to Magneto. If that's the case, do you think that Joss Whedon's superhero sequel is the right place for them to make their big screen debut? Would Fox do them justice by actually exploring their complicated relationship with their father? Here's your chance to decide...

Absent their full origin? No thank you; if it's some neutered version of them (not being Magneto's kids, etc) then I'd wait for the rights to revert or even not have them included at all

I think they shouldn't be used with either studio. Not yet, at least. Once all the rights are back under Marvel would be the time to do so, pretty far in the future still.

The problem is that mutants can't exist in the MCU per Marvel's agreement with Fox. How will their origins be explained?

@thanos83 -

For real? LOL. I think Singer makes his casting choices based on who he'd like to [frick] the most. Serious.

thewonderer - 5/2/2013, 7:19 AM
Fox. I doubt Marvel Studios even believes these characters deserve solo films. Like Hawkeye, they don't give a [frick].

If by a miracle Marvel Studios were ever to get the X-men franchise in the next couple of years their appearance in the Avengers would be a bonanza. It could be the preliminary introduction of mutants into the MCU that will be explored later in future X-Men films.

Hawkeye solo movie ? no thanks

Nobody wants a Hawkeye, Quicksilver, or Scarlett Witch solo film not even Fox. They got burned on Electra and don't adapt anything but Wolverine or X-Men films now.

Marvel. "Singer-verse" probably won't last long enough to get around to using those characters. If Marvel gives Wanda & Pietro a very mysterious, sketchy background, we fanboys and fangirls can infer that they are Magneto's children.

@thewonderer lol, do us a favor...stop talking. Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch couldn't hold a series in the comics, so tell me your ideas for a solo Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch movie?
thewonderer
thewonderer - 5/2/2013, 7:27 AM
I don't mean a Hawkeye solo film, I mean any [frick]ing respect for that character at all or any respect for Renner. A mindless grunt in Avengers, NO announcement on whether he's in any of phase 2.

With Marvel Studios you can expect Poor treatment of young actors and characters when more important characters are on screen.

I may not be a fan of those shitty FF4 movies, but X-Men, X2, First Class were always great.

With FC so recent, and The Wolverine looking to accurately adapt a specific comic storyline, I'm looking forward to FOX making great CBMs.

I believe in DOFP and Fantastic Four (reboot).

id rather they not pop up in the MCU if theyre gonna be "characters of mysterious origins" and any subliminal mention of "we fell out with our dad" would have to come with explanation. Id rather wait til Marvel Studios gets more properties back cuz I know Fox would find a way to make it weird
thewonderer
thewonderer - 5/2/2013, 7:31 AM
@TrueHero

So then theoretically, these characters would need be setup, complete with NEW backstories and an explanation for why they weren't in the first Avengers as well as why they're here now in Avengers 2? Along with explaining how all the other characters are coming back, the new threat, his plans, any logical sense of pacing, etc.

Introducing major new characters in a team up film is beyond stupid.

@thewonderer Compared to the rest of the Avengers, Hawkeye is sort of a mid level character.

I didn't like how he was treated in the first half of the movie, but after the mind control went away, he was absolutely B.A.

My only gripe with Fox has been what they've done with their TV shows, not so much there movies.

I didn't answer your question? What am I, your slave? back the hell off.

I'm not the one advocating for these characters to be introduced. They should not be used, especially when characters like Black Panther and Doctor Strange are available.

Fox. These characters without the Magneto connection arent the same to me

I was thinking the same thing about Flash and was writing it until I read your comment above.

To the question at hand... Neither :|

I dont want to give FOX anything, but I really dont care about these two whatsoever. Cant believe we dont have Pym and VanDyne... I'm actually pretty pissed off about about these two things.

Couldn't care less about Wanda and Pietro, ESPECIALLY without Magneto ties. Ugh... astronomically unhappy with this news.

And let's not forget how Q and SW were well established Avengers-related characters before they were revealed to be Magneto's kids
