POLL: Which Character From THE AVENGERS Emerged As Your Favorite?

Six core team members, a vicious villain, and a few S.H.I.E.L.D agents too. Most of them shared the spotlight equally and had their moment to shine, but who do you think shone that little bit brighter than everyone else?..

Joss Whedon did a lot of things right in The Avengers, but probably his biggest accomplishment was successfully bringing together so many different characters from different movies, and giving them all (well, pretty much all) sufficient development and screen time to ensure his audience were completely engaged in everything that was happening to and around them. No small feat, and I personally don't think there was any real weak link, but who made the biggest impression on you guys? Vote below, and be sure to elaborate in the usual place..

Anyone who doesn't vote Agent Coulson is lying to themselves.

Couple of things I left the movie thinking...

1. Coulson is not dead... We don't really see him die and it's not like they had a funeral for their beloved friend (like X-Men 3). No, I enVision Marvel has other plans for Coulson, plus the fact that he's signed for 6 films or so... (IM, IM2, Thor and Avenger =4)

2. Red Skull ... Also not dead... I kind of wondered if they had really  killed him off in TFA, but after the first 5 mins of the movie when Hawkeye is explaining that the cube was a door to another universe the first thing that came to mind was the Red Skull being alive. Remember how a portal seemed to open up at the end of TFA? Oh and don't forget Fury picking the cube up with his hand and not burning up.

3. Banner never says "Don't Make Me Angry"  or " You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" no big deal, maybe over played  but I would have liked it. They also didn't show the "Eye Shot" when his eyes turn green.

4. Cap doesn't say "Avengers Assemble" however I'm glad that he didn't. Since Tony is the one the one that tells Loki, "The Avengers, its what we call ourselves" and that "it takes them a while to get going" (as a team). If you've seen the movie you would know that the only members that had spent anytime together before that were IM, Cap, Black Widow and Hawkeye therefore Neither Thor nor Hulk would have any clue what Avengers Assemble meant. It just didn't fit it,  so for  Avengers 2 or at the end trailer of Cap 2 "Avengers Assemble" needs to be in there.

5. The Quinjet inside Stark/Avengers Tower... Not sure if anyone noticed but in the digital model of the tower Tony and Pepper are looking at near the end, they are taking the building apart and you can see that there is a Quinjet in the building. Seemed like Tony is fitting the team with needed supplys for their next battle.

6. Pepper Potts is not pregnant... As suggested before hand that there was a hint about her being pregnant, the only mention of "baby" was referring to the Stark Tower, not to mention while she was drinking wine.

7. Loki mentions Odin using "Dark Magic" to transport Thor to Earth... Whether did the Dark Magic come from? Could that be a possible storyline for Thor 2. Could Thanos have planned for Loki to fail and go back to Asgard where "The Other" would still have mind control over him and cause him to steal the Infinity Gaunlet? Think about it... Loki had to of told "The Other" everything he knew, so Thanos plan might have been for him to fail and have the opportunity to gain access to Odins Vault. Especially with no Destroyer in Asgard to protect the relics within.

8. Who was helping Loki build the machine to open the portal? Was it Hydra, AIM, The Ten Rings? My guess would be Hydra since they already know so much about the cube. Also what was the name on the element that they needed for the Cube?

I have to Say the Hulk stole the show for me, I mean some of the most epic parts of the movie included him.

I will say though Hawkeye looked pretty bad ass in that movie to and Stark shined as usual but my favorite was the Big Green guy!

Evans was a great Cap in CA:TFA but I felt he was even better as Cap in The Avengers. So yeah I voted for Cap

I wasn't the biggest fan of CA:TFA, the montage in the film really killed it for me.......but I have to say CHRIS EVANS was absolutely PERFECT as Captain America in THE AVENGERS!!!

That was how i always imaginged CAP would be. My friends and I were all talking after the movie, and while we all agreed that HULK stole the show, we each had different favs from the movie. Seriously, i went to THE AVENGERS with 5 people, and each one had a different favorite!

Yet more proof that NO ONE handles an ensemble cast better than JOSS WHEDON!!!!!

Cap/Rogers was the heart of the team, Iron Man/Stark was [frick]ing funny and awesome, Thor and Banner/Hulk were absolutely badass, Black Widow totally surprised with her ass kicking abilities, Hawkeye was actually great in the film, Fury = Samuel L. Jackson ('nuff said), Coulson was that push Avengers needed and it worked, and Maria Hill was exactly what I wanted to see.

So, um, everyone? :)

@WolvieCBm, I gotta agree with you there, everyone was just on point! I think Hulk stole the show but man I like all of them!!

I Kinda hope they keep this same team for Avengers 2, I honestly dont want anymore characters because then the team may be too big

MarkCassidy - 5/8/2012, 12:30 PM
Yeah everyone was good, but some made more of an impression than others..at least on me. Hawkeye was good but he kinda spent the majority of the movie as a diff character in a way, as Fury puts it "Loki's flying monkey". Fury was a bit subdued and Jackson could have been better I thought. Thor was great but only showed up half an hour in. Going on all of that, for me it's a tie between Cap, Stark, Loki, Widow and Banner. I actually can't fault them at all, but if I have to choose one I'm going with Banner:)

For me it was the hulk, but now that i think back on it....when cap takes the lead and starts giving orders in the last battle that was pretty awesome! Evans always seemed young and freshed faced to me as cap but at that moment he really embodied Steve Rogers/Captain America!!!

Cap...No, Hulk! Thor and Iron-Man were good...and Black Widow and Hawkeye...This poll sucks! It's like asking a parent who their favorite child is. Or me what was my favorite part of the Reeses Pieces Hot Fudge Sundae at Friendly's.
