Days before the box office behemoth finally opens in Japan, three prominent leaders of Marvel's The Avengers movie assembled for the island nation's big red carpet premiere today. Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, writer-director Joss Whedon, and the actor behind S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson all attended the event. Others that attended, who you may not recognize, include actor Naoto Takenaka and actress Ryoko Yonekura, the Japanese dubbed voices behind Nick Fury and Black Widow. Check out vids and pics!

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; & “Thor 2” on November 8, 2013.

I live in Japan but have already downloaded/seen the avengers.
Though I think that the movie will do well in Japan, I don't think that the Japanese audience will be more excited for it. You have to remember that despite being somewhat heavily westernized by western media in terms of it's surface appearance, Japan is still very much an Island-nation with an Island-nation mentality. That's to say that at the end of the day, if it's not Japanese, then it doesn't get that much of a welcoming due to it not being culturally relevant.

@Luminescent - There really is no need for that, dude. I'm not sure if you meant to cause trouble with that or what, but just be careful with what you comment. People can go berserk with comments like yours. Just saying, dude.

I really loved avengers it made me feelike a child again when I witnessed that a man can fly back then with superman the movie.... I hope it takes avatar down hehe.

This said I do not understand why in this marvel related article there is not a war and thousands of "Nolanites" trolling the marvel articles and why is it that in every Dark Knight Rises asrticle I read there are a lot of marvel fans attcking them?

I am a fan of both Marve and DC but I think these wars need to be over now.

Peace

I liked Avengers, I thought they could have dumped Hawkeye and centred the film more on Capt America. They kind of glossed over Capt America's readjustment to modern life. Just for the record I think Dark Knight Rises is a good film also and you have to applaud Nolan for making an art house film that'll nearly gross 1 billion dollars.
