First of all, we all know that Marvel Studios has become a big thing recently. Since 2008, it has lit up the world with the Avengers and a lot of other golden creations that feature some of our favorite characters. And, as those of us enthusiasts know, Marvel doesn't own everything. Sony has the Spider-Man franchise and Fox has both the Fantastic Four and X-Men. And each one is trying to make their own Cinematic universe out of their products.
However, we often overlook that most of the Marvel characters BELONG to Marvel Studios. A large chunk of them are owned by Fox, obviously but Marvel Studios still owns most of them. Yet, they still only have enough resources to do two films a year, as confirmed by Kevin Feige.
Which means, most of those characters don't ever get used. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Moon Knight and Iron Fist have essentially been put on the backburner for now. Those are the other pieces that could happily fall into place for a Heroes for Hire or Marvel Knights movie. A connected universe that would be better off with Spider-Man.
Sony only has Spider-Man and Marvel Studios has all the other key players that are relevant in that very same world. Spider-Man is the biggest and most popular character in that sector of the Marvel world. I think, given that Marvel is expanding to the stars and doesn't seem to want to stop anytime soon, and as the other Marvel Knights are better served with Spider-Man, Marvel should work out a deal to have the same system with these franchises as Spider-Man.
That is: Marvel still has the merchandising rights and a large percentage of the profits (practically a co-production).
That way, Sony can TRULY have that Marvel Cinematic Universe with the vigilantes. This is what I would like to see happen:
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Daredevil Reboot (2016)
The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (2016)
Luke Cage (2017)
Moon Knight (2017)
Marvel Knights (2018)--The BIG movie they were advertising about being NOT JUST a Spider-Man movie

So, essentially, I'd like for Spider-Man to be Sony's Iron Man (which he obviously is already). I'd like to see Luke Cage also have Iron Fist in the same way Black Widow was in Iron Man 2. Since, with having all the franchises, you'd be able to have an easier crossover power: I want Sony to have these franchises.
With Fox, I'd like Marvel Studios to really push for an initiative to purchase the Fantastic Four movie rights. In exchange, I would like Marvel Studios to give them the smaller characters more connected with the X-verse that Fox doesn't currently own.
Since, I believe, Fantastic Four and their villains BELONG with the Avengers and deserve to have THEIR crossover film. I think Marvel Studios should keep the current reboot and promise Fox a sort of co-production but they no longer have creative input. Fox will make money on movies they don't fully develop anymore (like the deal with Paramount) and that property will slowly drift away from 20th Century Fox.
On top of this, I'd like all three studios to come to an agreement: that while they can't fully crossover, they can have cameos and have the shared skyline and other Easter Eggs to show they are in the same universe. Instead of having three separate universes, I'd like for them to have three separate sections of the same world being developed at the same time to make a world that DC couldn't even hope to contest with. That would truly make a juggernaut and would benefit everyone involved.
In conclusion:
Sony will develop the grounded, smaller, non-world class, vigilante type heroes for their crossover part of the universe to take down other criminal entities.
Fox will develop the larger-than-life mutant part of the world where people hate and fear mutants. They can further develop this world with all the smaller characters connected with the mutants and large profit from the Fantastic Four selling of the rights.
And Marvel Studios will continue to develop the giants of the world. Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers, as well as those other world class heroes, to go out and be the new Star Trek kind of heroes that venture into the stars.
So, tell me what you guys think. Do you think this is a bad idea? Do you think it will never happen? Or do you think it has potential and could happen? Or that it has potential but would never happen?
