When the first official image of Anne Hathaway hit the web most fans were wondering if Catwoman was even Catwoman. Many of the feline features that we have grown accustomed to weren't there. No whip, no claws, and certainly no cat ears, but there were a par of high tech goggles. Down the road we would find out that those goggles actually flip up and become cat ears. Costume designer Lindy Hemming's came up with this creative approach to Catwoman's costume. "I got chills when I saw that," Anne Hathaway tells Empire Magazine.
"I was so happy they had such a clever solution to a really iconic but sometimes unnecessary part of the costume."

From the orange prison jumpsuit to the stealing of Bruce Wayne's Lamborghini we can tell that Anne Hathaway's Catwoman is going to be one tough son of a gun. "The thing I liked about about playing Selina was that it isn't confidence for the sake of 'girl power' it is confidence for the sake of survival.

What about Catwoman's voice? Michelle Pfeiffer had a slow methodical approach to delivering her lines, like a cat creeping up on a mouse just before she pounced. While Earth Kitt went with more of a campy approach as she purred out every single little syllable. "Everthing about Selina has to be smooth. Except for her eyes. I wanted to find a way of talking where it wasn't as on the nose as a purr, but where you have to lean in a bit to hear her. So in a way you're concentrating so hard on what she's saying that you find yourself trapped at the moment you're talking to her."

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.
