Jacob Scipio is set to join reteam with Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah for the upcoming Batgirl HBO Max movie, which will star Leslie Grace in the title role as Barbara Gordon.
Scipio, who played Will Smith's wayward son in the third Bad Boys movie, is expected to play a key role, but details on his character are under wraps. Deadline also confirms that J.K. Simmons will officially return as Commissioner Jim Gordon.
El Arbi and Fallah recently indicated that Batman would put in an appearance, but Grace has previously stated that Gotham's other Caped Crusader won't have anything to do with Barbara Gordon's first solo feature, which obviously has to be taken into account. Of course, there's a chance she was simply trying to keep things under wraps for fear of spoiling the surprise.
Loki composer Natalie Holt announced that she's signed on to work on Batgirl's score last month. Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.
DC FanDome brought us a first glimpse of some concept art for the movie (see above), which gives us some idea of how Batgirl's costume will be depicted in live-action.
