BATGIRL Set Photos Seemingly Tease The Introduction Of The Court Of Owls And Vicki Vale

Some more photos from the Glasgow set of the HBO Max Batgirl movie have been shared online, and these snaps seemingly tease the introduction of The Court of Owls and Vicki Vale.

Another batch of photos from the set of Batgirl have been shared online (via Batgirl Film News on Twitter), and while we still haven't caught a glimpse of star Leslie Grace suited-up as Gotham's other Caped Crusader, these latest pics might just tease some intriguing developments to come in the DCEU.

Several magazine covers were photographed during the shoot, and they spotlight a couple of very interesting Easter Eggs relating to the sinister Court of Owls and Gotham City journalist Vicki Vale, who was played by Kim Basinger in Tim Burton's Batman back in 1989.

This doesn't mean Vale and the Court of Owls will actually be introduced in Batgirl (or at all), but it would seem to confirm that they do exist in the DCEU, at least.

Check out the photos below, along with a snap of Grace having some fun with recently announced cast member Ethan Kai between takes. It looks like Barbara Gordon and Kai's mysterious character will be romantically linked.

Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon, and Jacob Scipio and Brendan Fraser in undisclosed roles (the latter is believed to be playing the villainous Firefly). It's also been confirmed that Michael Keaton's Batman will appear.

Loki composer Natalie Holt recently announced that she's signed on to work on the movie's score, while Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.

The HBO Max movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. No release date has been announced.

Guess we can forget about seeing the owls in the Batman trilogy.

@MCUKnight11 - this might just be a reference. Really don't see this as a sign they aren't being used for the batman trilogy.

@Origame - I dunno. If Matt Reeves had the Court of Owls planned, it seems less likely that they'd be used as a throw away Easter egg for a Batgirl movie.

@MCUKnight11 - to me it looks more like it has already happened in the DCEU and thus needs no further big mention, leaving the door open for The Batman to explore it

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - I really don't see why not. Especially since the batman will release first, and since the court might appear or be brought up as the real villains, then that'd mean you'd get casual fans understanding the reference.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - if they were appearing in Batgirl, I'd get your point. But this is a blink and you'll miss it Easter egg.

Probably just background easter eggs, like in Crisis On Infinite Earths, remember seeing set photos of a newspaper announcing Bruce and Selina getting married on earth 89, never saw it in the actual show

So Bruce encountered them at some point.

Burton’s Court certainly would’ve been creepy.

@BlackBeltJones - I would like to live in a world where the Burton movies just kept going. Would have loved to have seen his take on Scarecrow.

Crazy how popular the court has become, they are probably the most popular new villain of the past 10 years

Nothing like taking a hat, filling it up with DC stuff and then pulling out 3 things every 2-3 years to make a trilogy.

cool, nice to see them wasting all the good stuff on this mess of a continuity with frankensteined batfamily.

HAHAH are they serious? Why would a magazine have a front page about exposing the most dangerous secret organization? I am starting to believe this movie is written by a 10 year old. Sorry from everything i have heard I find the premice of this movie truly stupid. They took random characters put them in the blender and decided to make whatever that thing is. The Court of Owls should appear in a serious Batman movie.Period
