Cinema Sins' Everything Wrong With Joel Schumacher's BATMAN & ROBIN (1997)

Cineman Sins has put out a new "Everything Wrong With" video and this one is a must see. This time they tackle Joel Schumacher's epic-debacle, Batman & Robin (1997). The film starred George Clooney as the Caped Crusader and Chris O'Donnell as the Boy Wonder.

Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silversone) puts them frequently in harm's way.

Batman & Robin (1997) was directed by Joel Schumacher, from a script written by Akiva Goldsman. The film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze, George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Dick Grayson/Robin, Uma Thurman as Dr. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Alicia Silverstone as Barbara Wilson/Batgirl, Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth, Pat Hingle as Commissioner James Gordon, Elle Macpherson as Julie Madison, Vivica A. Fox as Ms. B. Haven, and Vendela Kirsebom as Nora Fries.

After seeing Singer's brilliant look for Quicksilver, and then this long ass video... I wonder how lengthy Everything Wrong With X-Men: DOFP will end up being. I am going to start guessing at ten minutes long at the very least.

I still don't understand all the hate. Burton's Batman films were walking the fine line of camp, especially with the villains. Schumacher just crossed that line to make his campy, kid centric films. They simply turned more to the 1960's esque type feel of the Batman tv show. To me it wasn't like Nolan made the first two parts of the trilogy and Schumacher took it over and destroyed the final part. I viewed them as two different products. You had the first two Batman films with the typical Burton gothic/dark humor style and then you had two separate films by Schumacher that were completely different in tone.

See, I like this kind of stuff. RedLetterMedia did this to Episode 1 (and all the prequels, and other films), it was way longer than this, and it was better than the movie itself. And even though I knew that movie was awful, I missed stuff that RLM pointed out. This clip did the same thing. I liked it.

There are enough things wrong with the movie that nit-picking over stupid things is completely unnecessary. And additionally, whoever the idiot is that said Jeep Swenson (Bane) killed himself, he had a heart attack, dumbass.
