JOKER: Joaquin Phoenix Flashes A Grin Ahead Of The Movie Starting Production This Week

We know that Joaquin Phoenix has dropped a lot of weight in order to play the Clown Prince of Crime in Joker and now a shot of the actor flashing a rather villainous looking grin has started going viral...

Well, fan-artists are going to love this shot! Joaquin Phoenix is currently at the Deauville American Film Festival and this shot of the actor flashing a smile has already started going viral. As you can see, it shows his new, gaunt appearance along with an inadvertently creepy grin which could very well give us our best idea yet of what he's going to look like as the Clown Prince of Crime in the DC Comics movie.

Joker is actually set to start production later this week and while we have no idea when an official shot of the actor as the villain will be unveiled, there's a very good chance he'll spend most of this origin story not wearing the iconic makeup, so it's a safe that we might be waiting a long time for that.

We'll see, though, because there's a chance Warner Bros. could end up surprising us. If nothing else, they can probably be certain that our first look at Phoenix as the Batman villain won't be anywhere near as controversial as when they unleashed that shot of Jared Leto and his tattoos from Suicide Squad. When do you think we might get an official reveal? Let us know your thoughts down below.

He's a great actor. Eager to see the first official pic of him suited up with the warpaint on.

Will this movie somehow be connected to new Batman or DCEU?

This is an all-around odd production. From Phoenix, to Todd Phillips, and DeNiro, plus throw in the Joker and it all just sounds like a movie that would never have happened.

@MosquitoFarmer - With all of that behind it, I'm WAY more curious about this flick than VENOM.

Pretty awkward grin there. But I'm quite curious about this movie. Really wonder what the overall tone is going to be like.

@BlindWedjat - I can see it be like a crazy noir setting like the character.

So are getting the fuld story on how he becomes the Joker, because the most unique thing about him is his mysterious persona.

There is a parallel reality out there where the DCEU is a roaring success, with Richard Armitage as a weathered Batman, heavy focus on the extended Bat-family (with a solo franchise for Jane Levy's Batgirl, as well as a collection of other DC film series). And in that alternate reality, WB just released the first teaser pic of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker with his arm around Levy's shoulder.

That reality exists somewhere in the multiverse. So, you should be asking yourself what you did to deserve being stuck here in shitsville with me.
