According to the
Hindustan Times website,
The Dark Knight Rises will begin filming of a "two desert sequence" this coming Friday and Saturday at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhphur, Rajasthan.
An industry source told them,
"Chris flew down to India in December last year in a hush-hush affair for a recce in Jodhpur, and he loved the place. He will shoot a two-day desert sequence there and inside the Mehrangarh Fort on May 6 and May 7. It’ll be a fraction scene in the movie and perhaps the audiences won’t even come to know that it’s India"
Apparently, the film unit is already there and chartered a plane with over a dozen crew members as well as director Christopher Nolan who is expected to leave the country. Christian Bale however is NOT said to be in attendence.
Here's where things get really interesting though:
Other sources inform that the Jodhpur footage may feature the superhero’s antagonists The League of Shadows, considering their link to Asia, as shown in the movie.
The plot revolves around Batman dealing with his new status as a wanted vigilante pitted against the deadly villain Bane (Tom Hardy) and Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway.
Now the plot description is more than likely just an assumption on the sites part especially as the general buzz is that we'll see something along those lines in the movie. However, further confirmation from a "source" may indicate that they know a little more about the movie than we realise, while this is yet further confirmation of the League of Shadows being included.
With an all star cast which includes Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate,
The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!
