While the future of the DCEU slate is uncertain following the low performance and reception of
Justice League and with WB introducing Walter Hamada as the new head overseeing DC films nevertheless many fans are still hopeful that we see director Chris McKay's solo
Nightwing outing and while word has been quiet on that front with McKay suggesting some time ago that a casting announcement might soon be imminent, no such event has occurred.
At the BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles, the Golden Globe nominated actor Timothée Chalamet from the beautiful
Call Me By Your Name in which he delivers the best lead actor performance of the year (in this writer's opinion) was asked about the possibility that he would take on the role of the Bludhaven hero.
It's a certainty that the
Call Me By Your Name actor is going to be nominated for an Academy Award for his performance as Elio in the adaptation of the
André Aciman book and with his other film this year being fellow awards darling Lady Bird, if he does end up putting on the tights in this or any other CBM it would be a very high pedigree for that project indeed.
So what do you think? Is his "we shall see" indicative of something behind the scenes? Do you think that he would be good in the part or do you want an older Nightwing? As always leave your comments down below and keep it civil.
