NIGHTWING Director Chris McKay In Talks To Helm DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS Reboot For Paramount
It looks like Warner Bros.' Nightwing movie has indeed been put on the back-burner, as director Chris Mckay has another project lined up: Paramount Pictures' Dungeons & Dragons reboot. More past the jump.
Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) recently implied that it'd be quite some time before the Nightwing movie took flight, and it looks like we now know why.
Variety reports that Mckay is in negotiations to direct Dungeons & Dragons for Paramount Pictures. The reboot was previously set to hit theaters on July 23, 2021, but will now be the first projects to go into production for the newly created AllSpark Pictures and should release quite a bit earlier.
The studio is hoping to launch a shared cinematic universe from this and several other properties, including G.I. JOE, Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM. Still no word on the possibility of the Transformers joining the fun, but given how succesful the franchise has been so far, there's a pretty good chance it'll happen at some point.
