A year ago some concept art was released of Bane the artist said that it was his attempt at trying out but now it is clear it was an indication of Bane. He is even wearing the vest of that art in the treailer.

p.s., i am thinking more and more now that the shot we saw of the hooded man in the window is actually Bruce Wayne, visiting Gordon in the hospital, for the conversation we see in this teaser. Gordon knows he's talking to the former Batman, but still doesn't know who Batman really is yet.

I thought (from the low res) the person at the back was holding their neck whilst hanging.

-Who's climbing out of the well?
-Is the person aiming for Bane with Batman drawing him in?
-Is Batman being forced into the area by Bane only to be shot?
-Or forced into the duel at gunpoint?

Nolan's great at getting the chatter going!

I assume the 'venom', which I think is healing Lazarus pit water, is being pumped up the tube and turned into an inhalator via the 'teeth'.

What do you guys think?

I think the artist tried to shield himself by saying he did not know if Bane would be the villain and was just trying things out. But in hindsight I think he was preparing for Bane and it was known then he was the villain.

The mask is different but many things look the same.

In the pic of bane with his mask on, it looks like tubes are going in his mouth. Maybe in the Nolanverse, Bane has to orally injest the venom. That might explain the smoke coming off of bane as he is walking towards bats. One could argue its simply cold, but Bats is breathing really hard, and its not coming off of him.
