THE BATMAN: Armie Hammer Confirms He's Heard Nothing From Warner Bros. About Donning The Cape And Cowl
Last night, a report that Armie Hammer will take on the role of the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' The Batman was quickly debunked and now the actor himself has weighed in on those claims. Check it out...
Fans started to get excited last night when a report surfaced that Armie Hammer was in "final talks" to take over as Bruce Wayne from Ben Affleck in Matt Reeves' The Batman, but the rumor turned out to false.
It took no time at all for the trades to debunk that story, although it sounds like we might hear something a little more official later this week. Now, Hammer himself has weighed in on the matter and makes it clear that he's not only NOT in talks, but has heard absolutely nothing from Warner Bros.
"No one who can actually give me the job has asked me if I’m interested," Hammer said. "I don’t even know if they are done – they are still working on a script. I don’t think that they are close to production but I can conclusively tell you that no one has checked my availability, which is a bummer."
The actor was actually cast to play Batman in Justice League Mortal but when that project fell apart, he said goodbye to the Caped Crusader. While it would certainly be interesting if he were to return to the role, something tells me Reeves might surprise us. We'll see.
