Earlier this week, Warner Bros. released a new IMAX banner for The Batman with a URL directing fans to a website where they could purchase tickets to see the movie early on March 1. You probably won't be surprised to learn that, according to Deadline, tickets sold out immediately.
The reason for the early screenings is so that fans will be able to watch Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation at the same time the premiere takes place in New York.
The trade notes that The Batman is set to be the first movie since Spider-Man: No Way Home to open with north of $100 million. The Sony Pictures threequel ended up becoming the third highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office, so you have to believe the sky will be the limit for this three-hour blockbuster (assuming it receives the same overwhelmingly positive response from fans and critics).
Tickets for The Batman go on sale tomorrow, so if you missed out on these early IMAX tickets, then you'll want to be ready to buy yours as soon as they become available. We're expecting some new content for the movie to be released to coincide with that, so be sure to check back here in the morning.
The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham City.
Joining Robert Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.
