The website batman-news.com was going through the online version of Empire's article on The Dark Knight Rises and dug up a couple nuggets of information that were overlooked.

David Goyer said that at the premiere of The Dark Knight, Warner Bros. executives were already talking about a villain for The Dark Knight Rises“it’s gonna be The Riddler, and we want it to be Leonardo DiCaprio…”.

Also, if you have a basic understanding of math you can calculate that the film will be under three hours based on the information below.
More than a third of the film, 1 hour, was shot in IMAX.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Idk why people are crying about it. That would actually turn out ok. BTW I was also wanting it to be named Shadow of the Bat.

I wish it would have been. Riddler in the Arkaham Asylum and City was great. Would have made a much better villain than Bane in my opinion.

Riddle would be an awesome change up! They could explore the detective aspect of batman in a REALLY sick way with him as the riddler.

But that would have been really funny if they recycled almost the entire cast from inception if they kept the same characters from TDKR!

to those that say Johnny Depp would play a good riddler, I agree but he's been SO over exposed in cinema lately I cannot watch another movie with him in it!

I think Leonardo DiCaprio is a great actor, but he just isn't the right fit for The Riddler.

The Riddler would have just been another Joker rip off I am glad they went with Bane because he is a much different character. This is gonna be the fierst time in a movie that we see Batman get his butt handed to him.

Sounds exactly like the type of idea a big studio would come up with.

Just proves that these Batman movies are all Nolan, and WB still doesn't know what the hell they're doing regarding this stuff.

Riddler would be a good detective challenge and we all know Nolan is a master at crime dramas so I wouldn't mind it, especially if it was diccaprio.

Hmmmm, Riddler probably would've come off too much like Joker in TDK. I'm glad they went with a villain who can physically kick Batman's ass.

Anyone else remember when Eddie Murphy was rumored to be the Riddler. Gross...

Leo is a solid actor, the hate is unjustified. Back in his younger years it was cool for guys to hate him, like a boy band or Brad Pitt before Fight Club. Grow up, he's one of the best of our generation. The casting would have been fine... just that the Riddler is kinda lame.

"Riddler, Penguin, Mr. Freeze are too cartoony to be in a great Batman film."

Yes, because God forbid they make a Batman film based off of comic characters.

So glad we don''t have Leonardo in the film. He's one that just irritates me whenever I see him on-screen and that's saying a lot being I don't care at all for this on-screen version of Bane we are getting.

Sorry Myth, but regardless of acting skills some actors just annoy me. Tom Cruise...Leonardo...Jack Black...Will Farrell. It is what it is.
