The OMAC Theory more plausible than DOOMSDAY?

"It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.”

The OMAC (Omni Mind and Community) is a cyborg army originally designed to protect humanity from the "threat" of metahumanity.

After numerous unsuccessful experiments in genetic and mechanical grafts, the Project turned to using nanotechnology to convert otherwise ordinary individuals into Superhuman Soldiers called OMACs. Able to quickly generate a veritable army of such soldiers simply by introducing the OMAC nanobytes into an unwitting populace. Checkmate placed administrative control of OMAC units under the Brother MK I satellite recently "acquired" from the Superhero Batman. While initially a supporter of the spirit of the Project, Batman realized just how out of control the Project had become after the Infinite Crisis incident. As a result, he has made motions to stop the Project both politically as Bruce Wayne and personally as the Batman.

That heat blast is coming from resurrected, cloned or twin of Zod. Personally that is my theory and he'll be a a Bizzarro style character, who upon being killed will evolve into a proto Doomsfay.

I always thought Bizarro made more sense than Doomsday, but still didn't subscribe to the idea of him being the main physical threat. OMAC, on the other hand, makes more sense.

I was saying this last week I think. OMAC makes sense for a lot of other reasons as well, including explaining why Suicide Squad focuses on metahumans and why Viola Davis -- contracted for three films -- might appear in Justice League.

One of many issues I had with the green lantern movie was that it didn't take it's time. We were rushed right into an epic danger rather than seeing the culmination of Hal Jordan becoming the hero. Batman v. Superman is a little different because Superman is made out to be more of an Antihero than a boy scout and Batman has been around for a while. Having said that, I hope they don't push for "BIG" moves and just make a good movie that sets up future movies. It already feels really big in scale and seems like the hype is going to outrun the movie itself. Having said that, I would LOVE an OMAC villain. I was hoping the Manhunters would be the villains in the GL movie and was sorely disappointed. I have enjoyed most of what Zack Snyder has brought to film, and really hope that this one is good. So many uncertainties.....

Please, do give credit where credit is due. This fan theory originated from the posters at SuperHeroHype forums, as you know well, since you've taken all those images and comic book panels from there.

Oh please hell no with the OMAC project! I'd rather have Bizzaro Zod or proto Doomsday.

Reason:

Are we forgetting that has been done in Avenger Age of Ultron? It was okay but I don't want to see another rendition of that.

I don't want to see another version of that film now on DC just please I hope your wrong.

@Hellglazer, I will update the credit for that forum. It's a very interesting theory and easily the best one I have read about this movie.

I also had another thought. Supposing the BvS villain ISN'T an OMAC.

What if its some version of Amazo?

In the Post-Crisis continuity, Amazo is a Professor Ivo-created android that can mimic the abilities of metahumans. In the New 52, Amazo is based on the A-Maze Operating System, a program that can mimic cellular regeneration and therefore metahuman abilities. LexCorp creates a synthetic virus based off the A-Maze OS that both suppresses metahuman abilities and grants metahuman abilities to ordinary humans before killing them. A LexCorp scientist becomes Patient Zero and ends up battling Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. This infected scientist interestingly mimics Superman's heat vision using its ability to self-mutate. This storyline sees the Amazo virus spread throughout the U.S., and ARGUS has to get involved to quarantine Metropolis.

So it is also possible that this Lex/OS is the DC EU version of the A-Maze OS, and that Lex uses Zod's corpse as the basis for his version of Amazo.

Again, just another theory, but one that could still fit with what we know.

I will hold all judgement for when the movie comes out. I am kind of glad there is still question as to who the villain is. I feel like all the mystery to Age of Ultron was ruined in the previews. I was hoping they would open doors to Brainiac and feel like Snyder made subtle hints to Brainiac in Man of Steel. While I know there are a few things that could have been done different ie: Death of "Paw Kent", destruction levels in the city, and *spoiler in the event you still haven't seen the movie" breaking Zod's neck, I thought Man of Steel was a great re-certification of Superman. I was hoping for a more Earth One style story anyway. I always hated the "boy scout" persona much like I haven't ever really cared for Captain America. They both more or less stand for the same thing and Superman (while no where NEAR as much as Batman) has been played out in TV and movies. Seeing fresh introductions (Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman) are really what have me excited. At the end of the day, with exception to Green Lantern because I am FAR too biased to add an opinion on that movie, we are left to rely solely on the director and screen writers interpretation of the art. I have pretty high hopes for this movie and really hope I am not disappointed.

Before I have made anyone mad, I really REALLY did not like Captain America: The First Avenger. I know it had it's place but I was bored and it felt forced. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, however, more than made up for it. My reference to "never really caring for Captain America and Superman" were based more towards comics than movies. After the epic failure of my favorite hero, Green Lantern, in it's first live action movie; I have tried to enjoy the comic book movies for what they are, just one's interpretation of content.

Oh, and if I haven't said it, I really enjoyed the article.
