New BLACK ADAM TV Spot Released - Will Henry Cavill's Superman Make An Appearance?

Warner Bros./New Line have debuted a new TV spot for Black Adam, as rumors continue to swirl that Henry Cavill will make a cameo appearance as Superman - and not just from the chest down!

Black Adam is set to hit theaters later this month, and the TV spots are becoming more frequent. This latest teaser spotlights quite a bit of new footage of Dwayne Johnson's Man in Black in action, as members of the Justice Society do their utmost to bring down the mega-powerful anti-hero.

We've been hearing rumors that Henry Cavill might show up as Superman in the movie, and even Johnson himself has hinted that a few surprises could be in store. Now, a couple of fairly reliable insiders are claiming that the Man of Steel does infeed make an appearance.

According to MyTimeToShineHello, "Cavill is back, he has the classic suit with the John Williams score, and says 'we need to talk, Black Adam.'"

If true, it sounds a lot like the film's post-credits scene, but that hasn't been clarified just yet.

Cavill's return shouldn't be taken as a sure thing, of course, but this account (as well as a few others that have weighed in) has been spot on several times in the past.

"From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods— and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life, Rush Hour 3) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express, The Mummy) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers, Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the Mamma Mia! and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will be released nationwide on 21st October 2022 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Probably not but they will play with the possibility so people will go watch the movie.

@Jaspion - exactly this.
Otherwise, what are they supposed to be teasing, the continued existence of the Snyderverse? I thought we were supposed to be rebooting.

No. This is a cash grab. Trying to get those weekend numbers before people realise they've been fooled.

They’re just playing on some peoples desire to see him, all to not have him show up at all

I hate that they keep trying to associate Henry's Superman with John Williams' score, it was so lame when they did it in Josstice League. That score belongs to Christopher Reeve's iconic iteration of the character, and to some extent Brandon Routh's version since his was meant to be a continuation of Reeve's.

Cavill's Superman is a completely different interpretation with his own fantastic music cues courtesy of Hans Zimmer. If this happens then it's probably the most disappointing way they could reintroduce Henry in the role. Having said that I don't really have any faith in this movie or anything else DC is currently working on anyway... And as a lifelong DC fan I [frick]ing hate to say that.

@AC1 - Agree. I hated the old themes in Josstice League. I listen to that iconic score all the time, but when it shows up in movies like Joss Whedon's Justice League it just sounds so dated to me. And the Zimmer score is extremely awesome.

@AC1 - I'm neutral on the subject. I love Hans Zimmer's MoS score but I love John Williams' score too. I am not really sold on the "only this theme can be associated with this incarnation."

I have been on a Bond kick lately. Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are different interpretations of Ian Fleming's literary character, James Bond in their own continuities and tones, and yet both have Monty Newman's Bond theme. Imagine how silly it would be if they said "Daniel Craig is a new iteration so he needs a new Bond theme."

@AC1 - - if they have Cavill finally play a proper version of Superman and not Snyder's "interpretation" then Williams's theme would work just fine

How sad that they need to do this in an effort to get audiences to see the movie.

@Dotanuki - Dr Fate is the main reason why I'm considering watching it on cinemas. I like Black Adam but from the trailers it just feels like generic The Rock character. So don't blame them for teasing Superman.

@Dotanuki - Worked for She-Hulk, got people to see that abysmal show in the hopes of seeing Daredevil.

@IronMan616 - well, for one, Daredevil was advertised as being in it so they weren’t teasing an appearance that may or may not happen. Second, you don’t have to sit through the whole series to see Daredevil.

Fair effort with your strained example!

@JoJo1982 - huh? The 2 other Spider-Man were an integral part of the plot. Were they teased in the marketing? No. They were excluded altogether until weeks after the movie was release. So what is your point?

Will Superman be an integral part of the story?

Again, C/C- effort with your strained example.

@Dotanuki - You said, "they need to do this in an effort to get audiences to see the movie." Who is "they" then? DC? Nobody has said anything on DC's part. So far, it's only an internet rumor.

I compared it to Marvel because Marvel also advertised a well-known and beloved superhero to get views for their product.

I’m going to go ahead inform y’all Cavill will not be a cameo in the movie. But maybe we’ll see old footage of Superman or the Superman body double. DCWB hasn’t shelled out enough money for Cavill to cameo in Shazam or Peacemaker, they used body doubles so I don’t see them doing it for Black Adam. If anything they’ll hype up Cavill vs the Rock for the next couple years and never deliver.

I DO NOT want to see Henry Cavill's Superman in Black Adam. They need to do a Man of Steel 2 before he appears with any other super hero except Christian Bale's Batman. This is how he was ruined before by forcing him to be paired with psychotic Batman for no real reason. let him complete a story arc first then have the team ups. Aside from Bale's Batman I do no want any camero's in a Man of Steel 2 either.

I'll just say this: I'm not interested in seeing Superman show up in a Black Adam movie starring the Rock. For one thing, if those stories are true that the Rock cannot contractually lose a fight, then all I'll be thinking about is how much time was spent negotiating every punch. Also, it's a Black Adam movie, so Superman shouldn't be showing up to beat Black Adam anyway... that's just not a great way to build a franchise.

And if Superman just shows up to be a jobber for Black Adam, then I don't really want to see that either.

It just feels like the Rock's ego (and the way they're wanting to push Black Adam as a franchise face) is demanding to be stacked up against DC's most famously strongest guy. It's the kind of pro-wrestling vibe that isn't about character as much as it is about powerlevel and... I'm just not into it. *Boop.*

@Spock0Clock - You probably don't have to worry about Superman jobbing or anything, according to rumors, it would only be a one scene cameo.
