BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Resumes Filming As Letitia Wright Returns To Set

It's been confirmed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed production, and Letitia Wright (Shuri) has returned to set after recovering from an injury she sustained while filming the MCU sequel.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has now resumed filming after taking a brief hiatus to accommodate star Letitia Wright, who suffered an injury while shooting a scene last year.

Wright reportedly returned to set this week, almost 5 months after being injured while performing a stunt. Though the damage was initially said to be minor, it later emerged that she'd actually sustained a fractured shoulder and a concussion.

"Filming resumed this month as planned and we're on schedule," a representative for the Shuri actress told BBC News.

Rumors did the rounds that Marvel Studios was planning to move forward with the sequel without Wright, who has come under fire for supposedly espousing anti-vax views on set. This led to speculation that the actress may even have been fired outright, but clearly that's not the case.

Wright has also expressed controversial views about the pandemic and vaccinations on social media, and there's some concern that she may have returned to the set unvaxxed. This seems unlikely given Disney's recent mandate, however.

We still don't know a whole lot about the Marvel sequel, but Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away last August after a 4-year battle with colon cancer, will not be replaced as T'Challa or "resurrected" via CGI. Shuri is actually the favorite to take up the mantle of Black Panther, but some would prefer (maybe now more than ever) to see Winston Duke's M'Baku honor his old foe-turned-ally by assuming the responsibility of Wakanda's protector .

A rumor that Narcos Mexico actor Tenoch Huerta will play Namor in the movie recently did the rounds, but that obviously remains to be seen.

Thankfully that phase four art seemed to confirm she won’t be taking the gig. Fingers crossed.

Speculation: Because of her supposed "anti-vax views" she'll be killed off in the movie. Marvel will use the multi-verse to bring back MBJ as the new official Black Panther.

@RebelCommander - thats a stupid reason for her character to be killed off

I just hope they don't blow it with this one. Despite the wonky cgi at times the first movie is a solid superhero flick with a great cast.

@ModHaterSLADE - solid? Bro! It’s one of the best solos! We’re spoiled so I mostly like ensembles in my top top category but still. Wakanda forever

@TheWalkingCuban - for me the solo movies are usually much better than the ensemble movies.

@eGGtheGreat - fair enough

@TheWalkingCuban - I think it’s the best solo movie. Civil war, winter soldier, no way home, homecoming round out my top 5 but obviously some of those are ensembles too. I just count them as solos because that's what we’re told they are and they do focus on the main character

@MyCoolYoung - Agreed, for instants Ragnarok was not marketed as a solo, It was supposedly this buddy movie with Thor and hulk, And whether it was or wasn’t, it was definitely an ensemble. Antman 1 did not have a suited up wasp, def a duo. I would say multi verse of madness is being marketed as an ensemble as well. As will Thor 4 and so on. Shang chi and Eternals were solo and ensemble with newcomers, I guess they both would have higher box office if they had returning characters marketed

@TheWalkingCuban - agreed on all fronts. Antman 1 is a hidden gem of the infinity saga

@ModHaterSLADE - Agreed. Great movie and great soundtrack

Also, is recently learned that final fight was being render only about 6 weeks before release!!! That might explain a thing or two

lets see where this goes. I'm not too big on Shuri as the new BP (even before Letitia's controversy), I feel M'baku would be a better fit and bringing back MBJ would feel like a cop-out after his character's death, specially if they were to go with the multiverse route.

@Spidey91 - this is just a nitpick but M’Baku is a big dude and really doesn’t seem so stealthy as the new Black Panther. But I would prefer M’Baku before Shuri. She’s more like “Q” to any Black Panthers “James Bond”.

@Spidey91 - I'd rather just see it. Killmonger not being redeemed, but what N'Jobu would be if he had never left or returned to Wakanda. I'm not sure why the Multiverse route isn't the obvious one.

Yeah… they’re definitely going to move the release date of this movie again.
