BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Resumes Filming As Letitia Wright Returns To Set

It's been confirmed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed production, and Letitia Wright (Shuri) has returned to set after recovering from an injury she sustained while filming the MCU sequel.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has now resumed filming after taking a brief hiatus to accommodate star Letitia Wright, who suffered an injury while shooting a scene last year.

Wright reportedly returned to set this week, almost 5 months after being injured while performing a stunt. Though the damage was initially said to be minor, it later emerged that she'd actually sustained a fractured shoulder and a concussion.

"Filming resumed this month as planned and we're on schedule," a representative for the Shuri actress told BBC News.

Rumors did the rounds that Marvel Studios was planning to move forward with the sequel without Wright, who has come under fire for supposedly espousing anti-vax views on set. This led to speculation that the actress may even have been fired outright, but clearly that's not the case.

Wright has also expressed controversial views about the pandemic and vaccinations on social media, and there's some concern that she may have returned to the set unvaxxed. This seems unlikely given Disney's recent mandate, however.

We still don't know a whole lot about the Marvel sequel, but Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away last August after a 4-year battle with colon cancer, will not be replaced as T'Challa or "resurrected" via CGI. Shuri is actually the favorite to take up the mantle of Black Panther, but some would prefer (maybe now more than ever) to see Winston Duke's M'Baku honor his old foe-turned-ally by assuming the responsibility of Wakanda's protector .

A rumor that Narcos Mexico actor Tenoch Huerta will play Namor in the movie recently did the rounds, but that obviously remains to be seen.
