BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Rumored To Introduce [SPOILER]

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to suspend production until next year, but rumors continue. This latest report claims that a key character will be introduced to continue T'Challa's legacy.

We recently learned that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will cease production indefinitely while actress Letitia Wright (Shuri) recovers from an on-set injury, but we do have one more rumor to share with you guys before cameras stop rolling, and it's a big one!

Warning: This sounds like a major plot point and something Marvel Studios has attempted to keep under wraps, so if you'd rather not be spoiled, best stop reading now.

We've been assured that the Black Panther sequel will honor the late Chadwick Boseman while continuing the legacy of his character, T'Challa, and we may now know how Marvel and director Ryan Coogler intend to achieve this. According to Cosmic Circus - who have been putting some pretty significant scoops out there of late - the movie will introduce the son of T'Challa and Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o).

Though the plan is no doubt to have the lad take up the mantle of Black Panther at some point, he is not expected to do so in this film. There's been a lot of speculation that Shuri will serve as Wakanda's protector in the wake of her brother's death, but, if this report proves to be accurate, we wouldn't be surprised if she eventually passes on that responsibility to her nephew.

In the comics, T'Challa has a son with Ororo/Storm named Azari, and while the name might will stick, the child of T'Challa and Nakia will most likely be a completely new character.

Again, this is only a rumor for now so best not to put too much stock in it until we learn more, but it does make a lot of sense. How would you guys feel about T'Challa's son carrying on his father's legacy as the MCU's new Black Panther?

I like this.

But I also want to see Nakia get a more prominent role.

@Menks123 - It's so weird how everything post-Black Panther has ignored her, despite her being pretty important person in T'Challa's life. Even if they couldn't include her for the big group fights of IW/EG, where was she during the big victory celebration or Tony's funeral?

@FinnishDude - She didn't know or meet Tony, why would she have been at his funeral?

@Whaley87 - To accompany T'Challa.

Azari sounds pretty cool, but maybe just name him after his late father
BoBiggHHB3
BoBiggHHB3 - 11/8/2021, 6:26 PM
@JFerguson - that's actually close. Azari is named after T'Challa's grandfather, Azari The Wise (in the comics)

Why?

The kid will be a baby in this movie and then we'll have to time jump at least 20 years for him to become Black Panther?

My vote still goes for Okoye, who is a skilled tactician and fighter.

@UXASIS - Or. Prior to the events of Infinity War, T'Challa and Nakia got back together. After the snap, Nakia found out she was pregnant. So when T'Challa returned in Endgame he assisted in the war and then when he returned to Wakanda he was informed he had a son who was now 5 years old.

@SonOfAGif - I don't even think they were split up before infinity war, so yeah it tracks pretty well

@JFerguson - They did split in the sense that she went on to continue her mission and he remained behind to lead Wakanda.

@SonOfAGif - Alright, can't wait to see him don the mantle in 15 years lol.

@UXASIS - Or the kid could get a suit his aunt made for him and she trains him in secret along with Okoye.

@UXASIS - with Kang the Conqueror set up to be this Phases big bad, the baby could be introduced in this film and then plucked from 25 years in the future for the next one.

Hopefully it’s his grown son come back from the future, but he can only take the mantle for a limited time because he’s stuck running backwards or some such nonsense. Did I mention he’s played by John David Washington

More than likely, the son could very well be 5+ years old by the time this movie takes place, if Nakia survived the snap that is. Which would be very interesting to see

Well, short of some time travel shenanigans, he wouldn’t be taking the mantle anytime soon.

Lotta great things Coogler could do with this, but this is definitely a different direction than I was expecting if true
