BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Will Reportedly Bring Daniel Kaluuya's Back As W'Kabi

We've yet to receive a first look at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but a new listing suggests Daniel Kaluuya will return as W'Kabi, the Wakandan who betrayed T'Challa in 2018's Black Panther...

Following the death of actor Chadwick Boseman, Marvel Studios made the decision to forge ahead with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We're expecting a new hero to take over T'Challa's mantle, but don't think this latest addition to the cast will be given the opportunity to suit up.

Based on information shared by costume designer Stacy Caballero, she's working on the movie as an Assistant Costume Designer. Among those she's helped create new looks for in the blockbuster are Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, and Daniel Kaluuya. The latter's involvement with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been rumoured for a while, but this is the closest we've come to confirmation.

Kaluuya's popularity has grown by leaps and bounds since Black Panther was released, primarily thanks to standout roles in projects like Get OutQueen & Slim and Judas and the Black Messiah.

The actor played W'Kabi in the first film, T'Challa's best friend and a warrior from Wakanda's Border Tribe. Ultimately, he would choose to betray his King by siding with Erik Killmonger, and was seemingly jailed after fighting his fellow Wakandans and the woman he loved, Okoye. It's previously been reported that Danny Sapani, who played Border Tribe member M'Kathu, will also return.

We're not sure where W'Kabi's story could go next, but here's hoping Marvel Studios and filmmaker Ryan Coogler have a good role in mind for Kaluuya given what a great talent he is.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released in theaters on November 11.

Nice, I liked W'Kabi and Kaluuya's take on the character.

I figured majority of Black Panthers actors from the first movie were returning. RIP Chadwick

I hope Okoye's been keeping that dude in line.

Insane actor, really added depth to the character in the first one even with so many key scenes for his characterization deleted.

As they should. One of my favorite actors after his turn as chairman Fred. I wouldn’t be mad at all if he’s black panther by the end

He leads the prisoners, for Wakanda, against the invading Atlanteans.

While my personal preference is either for Nakia or Okoye to become the new Black Panther, I really like the theory that W'Kabi will have a redemption arc that results in him taking over the mantle from his fallen friend.

Just his back? What about his front?

Okoye will probably visit him in whatever holding area they have him locked up in. They'll have a dialogue where she says she still loves him and he explains how he only did what he thought was best for Wakanda. This will lead to Okoye later freeing him before or during battle which will lead to some kind of redeeming heroic moment for him (probably sacrificing himself in the process).

I mean it's M C F'in U we are talking about. Nothing stays dead dead there, doesn't matter if they clearly died or were presumed dead.

He was BANISHED/EXILED....
There's a deleted scene between him and Okoye that is PHENOMENAL, why they left it out is beyond me(I know the reasons but they should've kept it in). Which reminds me, MANY/MOST of these movies NEED extended cuts for home viewing. I can understand the time restraints for the theaters but for home viewing you can always pause or come back to it later.

He's TOO unstable and not LOYAL enough for the crown to be Black Panther.

Ya'll also have to remember, not everyone can take the heart shaped herb and survive it, only the royal line of Bashenga.
