WWE Superstar Damian Priest Was Eyed For Lead Villain Role In BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER

Many pro wrestlers have taken a shot at acting over the years, but only a handful have found real success. Dwayne Johnson and John Cena immediately spring to mind, and it's now been revealed that current WWE Superstar Damian Priest was eyed for the role of Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

According to Fightful Select (via TheRingReport.com), Priest was approached for "a significant role" in the sequel. Despite having relatively little in the way of acting experience beyond his work in WWE, he was approached for both Talokan's King and his right-hand man, Attuma.

It's unknown if Priest, whose real name is Luis Martinez, was ever given the chance to audition. Ultimately, Tenoch Huerta would join the cast as Namor, while Alex Livinalli played Attuma.

We're guessing Namor's henchman was probably the role Priest had the best chance of landing, though we'd assume WWE wouldn't have allowed him that much time off to work on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He's been a huge part of the company in recent years, debuting on WWE's main roster last January.

He'd later team up with El Muerto star and popular rapper Bad Bunny for a match at WrestleMania and is now a member of the heel stable, The Judgement Day. While he missed out on the Black Panther follow-up, perhaps he can now join Sony's Marvel Universe for a brief came in the Spider-Man spin-off?

While we know many of you might scoff at this professional wrestler joining the MCU, we're sure you'll agree he at least looks formidable enough to play Attuma!

Funnily enough, Priest isn't the only wrestler who was eyed for the role of Marvel's Sub-Mariner. Once upon a time, there were rumours that The Rock was eyed to play the character when Universal Pictures was developing a movie in the 2000s.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now playing in theaters.

I know nothing about this guy but physicality aside, I’d say Marvel chose wisely.

He can cut a decent promo and he's talented. MJF needs to be in a movie, he should have played Flair in The Iron Claw, but it will still be an awesome movie!

Attuma, maybe. No chance in hell they actually considered him for Namor.

Would be a pain trying to cover all those tattoos on his arms.

Marvel would never get a wrestler to be the villain to carry the movie. Even Bautista was a shock with his supporting role.

Was 100% attuma, basically this movie’s Batroc

If his face could be deepfaked over the dweeb who played Namor. But I really dislike wrasslers in non wrassler roles.

This story is b.s. The reporter didn't even know the names of the characters in the movie. It's rarely good when wrestling journalists try to cover movie news. They messed up the MJF/Iron Claw news recently too.
