Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has overseen the last 18 Marvel Cinematic Universe films. It's a list that includes the likes of Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, and Captain America: Civil War, to name just a few. And while each film in the MCU may be special to him in its own way, Feige believes Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is the best movie the company has ever made.

In an special ABC News feature about the recently released Black Panther, Feige recalled the moment he first saw the film in its entirety.

"The movie finished, and I looked over at Ryan, I said, 'that's the best movie we've ever made,'" Feige said (1:25). That's a pretty impressive compliment, especially when you consider that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is home to some of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Of course, Black Panther is well on its way to becoming another blockbuster hit for the company, bringing in an incredible $75.8 million on opening day. Having already broken the box office record for a February release, Black Panther, which is projecting a $190-$205 million opening weekend - has a chance of topping The Avengers ($207 million) to become the biggest superhero movie opening of all-time.

Black Panther, which released on Friday, has been praised by both critics and fans alike. And Feige explains the film's story and what it represents is what's resonating with moviegoers.

"Clearly you have anticipation from an audience that has never seen themselves portrayed like this before," he said. Addressing some of the film's political undertones, Feige added, "Circumstances in the world have changed drastically since we started working on this movie four years ago. It was relevant then. I think it's more relevant now."

Black Panther is now in theaters, and will be followed by Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th. Looking even further ahead, we have Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019.
