Despite reports to the contrary, it's now been confirmed that Black Panther actor Daniel Kaluuya will not reprise the role of W'Kabi for upcoming sequel, Wakanda Forever.

Daniel Kaluuya will not be back as W'Kabi for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after all.

Earlier this year, a social media post from one of the film's costume designers appeared to confirm that Kaluuya was set to reprise his role along with the rest of the original movie's main cast. While the Get Out star may well have been in line to return as the Wakandan warrior, it's now come to light that a scheduling conflict prevented him from shooting his scenes for the sequel.

Rotten Tomatoes Awards Editor Jaqueline Coley sent out the following Tweet after interviewing Kaluuya for Jordan Peele's upcoming Nope.

In the first movie, W'Kabi was T'Challa's best friend, but ended up betraying his king - and his wife Okoye - to side with Killmonger. We assume he was imprisoned after the villain was defeated, but the character certainly wasn't beyond redemption, so it's a shame we won't get to see his story continue. That said, with everything already going on in the Black Panther follow-up, it might be for the best!

Official plot details are still under wraps, but we have been assured that the MCU sequel will honor the late Chadwick Boseman while continuing the legacy of his character, T'Challa. We may now know how Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler intend to achieve this, but it's quite spoilery, so click here if you want to know more!

We recently got official confirmation that Tenoch Huerta will indeed make his debut as Namor The Sub-Mariner via some concept art.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 11, 2022.

@AmazingFILMporg

Dude elevates any character he plays. Just naturally gifted. Like @JetStreamSam said below, I honestly thought they were going to offer him a redemption story given his arc in BP.

@regularmovieguy -

He is a great actor but he was kinda dead in the role. His eyes seemed emotionless 🥲

@regularmovieguy - big loss in my opinion. One of the best young actors right now.
