No HULK In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR; Current Whereabouts Are Highly Confidential
Early on in production, it was teased that Mark Ruffalo would appear in some capacity as the Hulk in Captain America: Civil War, but now according to a new interview with Ruffalo, it seems as though we won't be seeing the fan favorite Hulk for a little while longer. Come check it out!
Back in June, it was widely rumored, thanks mostly to Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), that Mark Ruffalo (Begin Again) would appear in some capacity as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War. However, based on some new information, it seems as though, while that may have been the initial plan, those original plans have changed.
Speaking with BadTaste. It, Ruffalo revealed that while he was a part of one early draft of the Captain America: Civil War script, he was later removed because Marvel felt the Hulk's current whereabouts were too huge to reveal in this already jam-packed film. Read his full comments (translated from Italian) below:
"Because it's still missing is not known where. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end evidently believe that reveal what happened Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away. Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big."
Well, that's certainly interesting... and while, it does make sense that Marvel would want to hold off on adding another major Avenger to a film that's already filled to the brim with a variety of our beloved heroes... where exactly did the Hulk fly off to following the events of Avengers: Age Of Ultron? Is he still on Earth? Or did he find a way to leave the planet?
Now, it should be noted, that we could always see him show up in a post-credits scene, but there's probably a better chance we'll see something from Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange instead.
What do you guys think? Where is the Hulk? Sound off with your thoughts below!
“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
