I never like games based on movies but to be honest this game looks like it has potential. But...I did say that about the Superman Returns video game and well that game blew donkey balls! But this one lookes awesome! I hope the combat system gets a little more polished and the freerunning is a large aspect of the game! I also like that they have a lot of this game made, shows they have been working on it for a little while already!

Sorry but this game looks like crap to me. Its to generic I could see any video game charictor do what cap did in this video. Im a Big Captian America fan and I want someone to take him seriously. World at War was the best WWII simulation I ever seen. Band of Brothers was the best WWII show I ever seen. Cap needs a blend and something GroundBreaking.

I'm surprised this took so long to get put up. I was there at this book numerous times to watch during the NYCC. People associated the fighting with that of Arkham Asylum. The fighting is slightly better than Arkham but will be more shield driven as described by the presenter.

Too bad its such a short clip because at the end of the demonstration levels you see Arnim Zola. I asked the presenter if what we see will be his incarnation in the movie and he said yes. I'll see if I can find an image and post.

Looks cool, but I'm sick of seeing games with canned animation. I want to see rag doll effects and and more interaction with the environment (kinda like GTA IV or something). I don't know how to feel about it at this point

Hush@ i completely agree, I wish these games and characters got the attention they deserve. there is so much potential to do something ground breaking with a character like Cap. I hope they try something like that with this game! but i won't hold my breath.

I guess what I mean is, if cap is going to hit tons of bad guys with his shield, I want them to go out cold/fly across the room and sprawl out in random ways, not the same fall over animation and crap.

It looks like they still need to tighten up the controls a lot. I really don't like when games don't have automatic lock on and you end up fighting thin air.

there needs to be a marking system like in splinter cell conviction. where you can mark multiple bad guys and throw your shield once then take them all out. we see that all the time in the comic, why no the game!

For those of you who are voting for more realism, I know where you're coming from, but i suggest you stop thinking Saving Private Ryan and start thinking Raiders of the Lost Ark. Otherwise you WILL be disappointed.

I dont knee full realism, but i gotta say that game looks pretty generic and the action looks slow and awkward. maybe there is a lot of work left to do, but as of right now i gotta say NO.

ThreeBigTacos- Wrong. Marvel War of the Gems on SNES as well as their Avengers game a long while back had a very cool & playable Captain America. This new game of his however, will definitely be the best!

Mass- Isn't Zola supposed to be a master of biochemistry??? Wouldn't he need NOT to be a big clumsy heavy robot??? ...for his experiments and all, i mean. I just figured he'd need a lot of dexterity and delicacy which a robot such as the one shown in the gametest footage might not be prone to. Could be wrong though. I'm not very familiar with this character.

With the movie taking a more realistic approach to WW2 and the scifi aspects of the traditional comics, I would have expected a bit more courage, originality and I have to say, violence. Not because I like it on its own, but it could have had a purpose in a game like this. Everybody else with guns and knives and he only has a shield. Isn't he supposed to have enhanced strength and stuff? He should be throwing furniture and heavy objects. Yeah, the fighting system looks like a cheap knockoff of Arkham Asylum.

I am usually the 1st person to go out and buy a superhero video game but in this instance I am definitely going to pass. This game looks so dumb. I think I will still with Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City when that comes out. This game lacks any variety from something we haven't seen. The gymnastics were odviously taken from a spider-man game and then the rest seems to be straight from Arkham Asylums play book. I need to see more but as of now this game is going in the shit pile.

i played it at NYCC, game looks alright enough. but the controls and feel reak of Arkham Knockoff.

@Colossus As told to me by the lead programmer, This is the pre Alpha version of the game demo that will be coming out not even close to a finished product. It's used to get the programmers used to playing the game so they can be more intuitive when designing the games features. This fighting unfinished plays better than Arkham's fighting mechanic. I thought Arkham's fight totally blew.

How did you play, they were just playing videos Sony wasn't allowing people to play just watch demonstrators.

One cool tidbit of info was the shield is only allowed to get minimal scuffing/dirt or damage on it through the play. Marvel had every intent of preserving the image of the shield.

I also asked, why they weren't using his old school shield and the programmer said that they stuck with the circular shield because it's much harder to throw and ricochet a badge shaped shield.

@Shaman - simple solution, Zola's got a battle suit and a lab suit he can switch between. At least that's what I'd say if I were writing it.
