First CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Trailer Approaching; Running Time Revealed

Seemingly confirming its expected debut with Thor: The Dark World, the first teaser trailer for Marvel's Captain America sequel has been classified, revealing a lengthy run time. Check it out after the jump!

As Marvel gears up for the release of Thor: The Dark World in the coming weeks, the studio is also ready to premiere the very first trailer for next summer's early addition to the “Phase Two” Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. First reported during a Cinema Expo in Russia last month, the trailer is expected to run theatrically with Thor: The Dark World. Now according to the British Board of Film Classification, the official teaser for the Captain America sequel will run at 2 minutes and 23 seconds, which is quite lengthy for a teaser trailer. But with the Thor sequel hitting the UK in just two weeks, October 30, we can (hopefully) expect The Winter Soldier trailer online around that time. What do you think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

ET sneaked six seconds of CATWS behind-the-scenes footage from their set visit into their segment on Cobie Smulders. It's not much, but it's here around the 1:46 mark

I think watching trailers isn't such a bad thing - just makes sure you don't look at it 1000 times in slow motion trying to analyse every shot.

However, having said that, going into a film completely fresh - not knowing who is in it - who the villains are - what the set pieces will be - does make the whole think much more enjoyable.

Without a doubt, but you know they have to market their product or else no one would know about it lol so it's just something you have to deal with.

Me personally I will watch the trailers, but I try refuse to watch clips, tv spots, etc. I try to just tease myself with it. Sometimes I'm successful, other times I'm not :(

There was a test done about how spoilers affected moviegoers. It concluded that the people who had seen spoilers enjoyed movies as much or more than people who hadn't. It's still personal preference of course, but I really don't think spoilers (outside of big twists) are a big deal.

I don't care as long as zola is a robot and crossbones puts on his mask at least for the last fight.

GotG will be the best movie of 2014, followed by TWS, then TASM2 then DOFP. DOFP will be great still, but won't be able to compete.

It's funny. I thought these "old hat" movies with characters we've seen would lose their lustre when new movies were announced. And they did, to an extent, for me.

But as they approach, my heart does the pitter patter thing. The Black Widow statue gave off a vibe that made me SUPER excited for this.

Can't wait!! The First Avenger is the best and my favorite solo Phase One movie. It had everything except a developed villain, but Weaving made the Red Skull one bad dude and made him fun and engrossing to watch. The Winger Soldier is my most anticipated Phase Two movie and I think it'll be the best. Definitely the most emotional. Bring on the trailer!!

I dont really mind trailers that don't give much away. Iron Man 3 was played aloooot in various forms of media and no-one saw the Mandarin twist coming. Yet people still get pissy. Its a no win situation for these guys really. We're lucky they are even still trying to please audiences

The fact that people moaned about getting a surprise twist and instead would have a preferred a generic bad guy in a predictable movie. Yeesh

Trailers are to draw you in and the movie is there to surprise you. We need more films like that, they are underappreciated by wannabe directors on this site
