VIDEO: Red Letter Media Review CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

We haven't featured a "Half In The Bag" from Mike and Jay for a while, so here's their latest review. Did they enjoy the Marvel sequel as much as everyone else seemed to, or do they spend the entire review pretending to mix up the names of various CBM subtitles? Well..it can be both!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is out now, and if you haven't seen it yet...what the hail Hydra are you waiting for?

"The end where all the spaceships are exploding"

Quotes like the above are why I stopped watching their videos - they don't seem to understand what they are talking about most the time.

They spend most the review comparing it to the old Captain America flick that everybody agrees sucks or simply to other random things to pad out the review while making jokes. Its less about what they have to say and more about "What will make the people watching laugh" - demonstrated by the occasional fat guy in audience joke or side skint.

If you enjoy their reviews that's fine - just not my sort of comedy review as I prefer them being informational also and knowing more about what they are talking about than just what is shown in the film.

You got to love it when the bad guy tells you everything (Zola). Makes you glad that Marvel has such stupid villians or the good guys would never win.

Zola was stalling them. Knowing all their deaths were imminent, someone as arrogant as Zola wouldn't be able to resists a bit of gloating about how Hydra had taken them all for fools.

But hey, not paying attention to movies works for some.

DoubleD, Marvel does have a plan but they are only sometimes willing to do something good with it. Cap 2 was an example of the good, Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 was an example of the forgettable.

Also, it doesn't matter how confident a studio is with their movie, having it open on the same day with another huge movie gunning for the exact same audience will always take a chunk out of their potential business. They will not open on the same day.

DoubleD, agreed. Cap kicks insane ass in that movie.

When he nailed a dude's hand to the wall with a big ass hunting knife in the opening action scene I knew shit was about to get real.

"Stand down, Captain Rogers"

@RorMachine

Very true. It's also worth mentioning that Zola didn't tell Steve and Natasha anything that they didn't already know or would've eventually found out from Agent Sitwell. And they knew about Sitwell just from piecing his presence on the Lemurian Star with the rest of the puzzle.

These guys are funny but come on, the Fox and Sony Marvel movies are not Marvel Studios movies. Why are they even comparing the production value of First Class to anything Marvel Studios has produced? They have nothing to do with each other beyond source material which Fox blatantly ignores anyhow. Confusing anything Fox makes with actual Marvel material has gotta be my biggest peeve when it comes to these movies.

Red Letter Media are great for gauging the non-fan hipster reaction to comicbook movies. They're smart, but they really don't care for the genre.

During the trivia game, they should've said the plot of Green Lantern was the plot of FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer. They're practically the same frickin movie. Laughed so hard at no one saw Ghostrider or Catwoman.

@cimmerian

That's a Zack Snyder movie. So why would Nolanites be mad? These reviewers absolutely loved The Dark Knight Rises.
Also, you've really never heard of these guys? Go watch their Star Wars reviews.
