Frank Grillo "Cautiously Optimistic" About Returning In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

During a little sit down with the guys over at Collider, the man who would be Crossbones got the chance to discuss his villainous role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and where he believes the future of the character will go. Check it out!

On the chances of getting to appear in Captain America's third outing:

I mean, I’m cautiously optimistic that you will see me in the not too distant future in the next installment of Captain America.

On being aware of the possibilty of being in further sequels:
Very early on the Russos said, ‘Look, this is an origin film for this character. We’re gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we’re gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here’s the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into and blah, blah, blah.’ And so we’ve had multiple discussions about what comes after that, that thing. So, you know, it’s obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he’s still there. They don’t do that for no reason.

Finally, Grillo shares his thoughts on rather or not he should have a costume:
He needs a costume! Coincidentally it could be a mask with a crossbones on it.

Additionally, Grillo also got to discuss his involvement in The Raid remake. See below.

Well, yeah. I mean, we were officially offered the film, and so that was gonna go in September and now that doesn’t go until January. So, you know, that’s the way the movie business is. You’re officially attached until there is no more movie, you know? But yeah, this is something that I’m planning on doing. Yeah.

Stay tuned to CBM for more On Captain America and other Marvel-related projects as news follows.

I would be great to see him back for Captain America 3. They need to make it the best it can be if it goes up against BvS.

I'll be the nitpicky jerk and point out that the mask doesn't have crossbones on it.

I don't think he was dead at the end of Cap 2. They were definitely setting him up for the next film. I'm sure he'll have the badass Crossbones mask in Cap 3. He said it himself, this was an origin story for Brock Rumlow, which means the next logical step in his story would be Crossbones.

He did a good job in the film. He'll certainly be back, no doubt about that.

He definitely played his role well. It'll be good to see how they make him stronger. I see him being a formidable foe for Cap.

I hope he returns. A nice character leaving me wanting more from him. Frank Grillo, along with every one else, played his character fantastically.

TWS is just one of the most exquisitely made CBM's ever. The best this year no doubt. Can't wait to buy on DVD.

He damn well better be back to do that again.

The way they incorporated Arnim Zola was without-a-doubt just genuis. I love how you could still see him express emotion. Loved it.

I recall hearing a while back that Grillo had a 3-Picture deal and that he would also be appearing in the Avengers sequel, as well as Cap 3. Since Baron Von Stucker is the villain in the opening act of AOU, it wouldn't be difficult to imagine that he tries to make a "miracle" out of Rumlow and send him to take on The Avengers along with Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver. We could maybe see some kind of Masters Of Evil-Lite type thing going on. As for Crossbones killing Cap, I highly doubt that's going to happen. Evans is going to be in Avengers 3 so I'm guessing that Cap won't die until the end of the film. And if it's really going to be a Thanos story, I don't really see where Crossbones would fit into it.

Omega...you posted some Liefeld art...what's wrong?!

Also, I'd like to bring up the noise Grillo was making a while ago about a possible Avengers: Age of Ultron appearance. Before Winter Soldier was even released, he was talking about his contract with Marvel interviews, and hinting towards being involved in the filming for A2, as well of course as a followup appearance in Cap 3.
