Captain Marvel is not only set to put the spotlight on Carol Danvers' origin story, but also Nick Fury's. While nothing has been confirmed, we'll presumably learn how the future S.H.I.E.L.D. Director loses an eye, and it's going to be exciting to this younger version of the character in action.
Now, actress Brie Larson has revealed that after working with Samuel L. Jackson in Kong: Skull Island, she was the one who pushed for Marvel Studios to include Fury in this movie.
"Marvel was like, 'Is there anybody that you'd wanna do [the movie] with?" she recalled during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "And I was like, 'Please. I need to be with my pal. Don't let me do it alone!'" It's possible that Marvel was always planning to revisit Fury's younger days here but based on those early reactions, these two steal the show together regardless.
With Captain Marvel delving into the 90s, we have no idea how many other surprises Marvel might have in store for us; for example, could a young Tony Stark appear? What about Peggy Carter back when she was working for S.H.I.E.L.D.?
