Arkham City End Game takes place between The End of Arkham City and the beginning of Harley Quinn’s Revenge as we know so far.
This issue makes up for the last two being epilogues of sorts. This puts whatever the Joker teased in the last issue into action and finally gets somewhat of The Last Laugh as he has had in all other media where The Joker previously died such as Return of The Joker film set during Batman Beyond.. The trashy art that I complained about before finally shines in this as the mood it creates is needed.
Derek Fridolfs definitely deserves recognition for all he has contributed to the Arkham City Universe, and End Game is no different. There really isn’t too much I can say about this issue without spoiling it because it is all about Joker’s after-death plan. We don’t get an update on Gordon or what he’s planning to do with The Joker’s body, but we do get an update on something that may happen to Joker’s body. Anyone who is a fan of Arkhamverse's Joker should definitely read this book. Most of the book is The Joker explaining his well-thought out plan on the Batcomputer that was teased at the end of issue #2. If you are a fan of complex Joker scenarios, this one is for you. I felt as thought The Joker is just as smart as Batman in the game and this issue is alluding to bigger things happening around his death. I have yet to play Harley’s Revenge but this comic book is hinting at big things to come if he follows up the ending in Arkham Unhinged, End Game or another story arc.
There aren’t any negatives in this except for the fact that there is barely any action with Batman, let alone anyone else. This issue is still great and needed for anyone who is collecting or reading this series.
5/5 stars for me.
