COMICS: Axel Alonso Says That A Second Wave Of "Marvel NOW!" Titles Are On The Way
Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso has revealed that we should expect a second wave of "Marvel NOW!" titles just as big as the first. He also teases the release of some new limited series' which will fall "under the creative umbrella of a much-loved sub-brand".
"There are plans for a Marvel NOW! Wave 2," confirmed Axel Alonso in his weekly "Axel In Charge" column over at Comic Book Resources. It's hard to imagine exactly how many other series' the publisher will be able to come up with as comic book store shelves are already heaving with numerous Avengers and X-Men books! However, he promises that they will, "generate the same amount of excitement amongst retailers and fans that the first wave did. From "Uncanny Avengers" to "Thanos Rising," Marvel NOW! has been a hit, and we're far from done. Look for exciting new series, starting in July and carrying through next year."
"We'll be making an announcement soon about a three intriguing limited series, featuring eyebrow-raising talent, that fall under the creative umbrella of a much-loved sub-brand," he teased. "I'm not at liberty to say much more. Oh, and we have more MAX limited series planned, as well." Good news for fans of this brand, although it's hard to imagine what other sub-brand he could be referring to. Alonso later confirmed that the "What If?" line will make a return this July for a four part Avengers Vs. X-Men special. Details on that can be found by clicking HERE.
