COMICS: Axel Alonso Says That A Second Wave Of "Marvel NOW!" Titles Are On The Way

Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso has revealed that we should expect a second wave of "Marvel NOW!" titles just as big as the first. He also teases the release of some new limited series' which will fall "under the creative umbrella of a much-loved sub-brand".

"There are plans for a Marvel NOW! Wave 2," confirmed Axel Alonso in his weekly "Axel In Charge" column over at Comic Book Resources. It's hard to imagine exactly how many other series' the publisher will be able to come up with as comic book store shelves are already heaving with numerous Avengers and X-Men books! However, he promises that they will, "generate the same amount of excitement amongst retailers and fans that the first wave did. From "Uncanny Avengers" to "Thanos Rising," Marvel NOW! has been a hit, and we're far from done. Look for exciting new series, starting in July and carrying through next year."

"We'll be making an announcement soon about a three intriguing limited series, featuring eyebrow-raising talent, that fall under the creative umbrella of a much-loved sub-brand," he teased. "I'm not at liberty to say much more. Oh, and we have more MAX limited series planned, as well." Good news for fans of this brand, although it's hard to imagine what other sub-brand he could be referring to. Alonso later confirmed that the "What If?" line will make a return this July for a four part Avengers Vs. X-Men special. Details on that can be found by clicking HERE.

So Angela is coming to Marvel... I thought they were steering more towards their cosmic universe to coincide with the Thanos focused Avengers 2 movie? Furthermore how does a mystical being like Angela fit into the ending of AoU, which is more sci-fi and technological? Curiouser, Curiouser...

"...a much loved sub brand." Let's see, we got Neil Gaiman coming over, and Vertigo has kind of gone to the wayside over at DC (I know there's a couple titles, but it ain't what it once was). Perhaps he refers to Vertigo. I mean, what other "sub brands" could he be referring too? Subway? Miami Subs?

Moon Knight can survive. All it needs is no Bendis Avengers personality crap. And a good writer like Waid or Fialkov.

Here are the titles I want.

New Heroes for Hire by Fraction and Dodson

New Silver Surfer by Gaiman (think about it, it would be awesome).

Namor book by Slott and Ramos (I know this would never happen but man by the way that they are handling Superior Spider-Man I think it could totally work).
