The penultimate chapter of the apocalypse is here! Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man scramble to make Earth's last stand against the relentless Serpent and his army of world-shattering avatars--all while amongst unbelievable chaos and destruction, Spider-Man makes the choice of a lifetime! Dark Asgard has risen and all of Earth's forces converge on the World Tree as the globe shudders in the shadow of FEAR ITSELF!

Many thanks to Cosmic Book News for the following.

The death of...Thor?! Say it ain't so! We already know he faces off against the "Worthy" possessed Hulk and Thing in the fifth issue (on sale tomorrow) but the above teaser seems to indicate that it doesn't end too well for the God of Thunder! What do you guys think? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

On a side note, I doubt he'll die, they'll want to bank on him because he'll be appearing in The Avengers and Thor 2.

They're not going to kill off one of the avengers before the movie. It'd be ridiculous. Even if they did, he'd be brought back before the premiere.

Didn't Thor die like 2years ago?

nah. doubtful Thor dies. one major death is enough, and you don't have a major summer motion picture and then kill the dude off. he's fine.

Anyone know what Spider-Man may do? What his choice of a lifetime may be?

I'll admit it's a little hard for me to guess what it could be since the choice was already made for him back in One More Day....

Anyway, hope it's good though! I hope to check this event out at some point.

I hope Iron-Man dies. Thor dying is boring because he always return after one week.

Did Thor die again? -_-;

It takes THAT MANY people to carry Thor? 2 of them have super strength and one is at peek human strength. If it takes that many people to carry Thor then he needs to cut back on the cheetos or something.

Dying is becoming to much of a frequent thing in comics, last time I felt something about a

character dying was colossus. after the one character that was never supposed to come back

(Bucky) did I stop believing in death in comics, I've been reading ultimate spiderman since

issue 1 and when he died I was like, so?

It sucks that it's become this way for me at least.

'Spider-Man makes the choice of a lifetime!' - wow does he make a deal with Mephisto that saves the life of his Aunt (who should have died years ago) and erases his marriage with Mary Jane (meaning that they both can sleep with several other characters) and in the process screws up 20 years of continuity, regresses the character and enrages fans? Wait... what? They already did that? Oh...can that arc be retconned then...?

Thor doesn't "die all the time", but the two versions (616 and Ultimate) of him HAVE bit it once a piece in the last 8 years.

616 Thor last died back in Thor issue 85-Dec 2004, around the time of the Avengers Dissasembled stuff. He actually stayed dead for almost 3 years, about 2 years and 9 months.

Ultimate Thor didn't as much die, as trading places for Cap's life.

Marvel may be out of ideas, but they're not recycling them that quickly yet. Thor already died and came back within the last 10 years.

Still, Marvel has become such a one trick pony that's it's sad.

It's in the synopsys you copy/pasted to the article that he is alive in issue 6 yet you make an article title like this. What about reading, let's try that.
