Marvel is proud to present your first look at Age of Apocalypse #1, from the creative team of Dave Lapham and Roberto De La Torre. Spinning out of the critically acclaimed Uncanny X-Force, the Amazing X-Men and the human resistance must fight tooth and nail to end the tyranny that has left their world ravaged! Continuing Apocalypse’s war on humanity, Weapon X leads the genocide that rains down upon this dimension, eliminating any who stand in his way.

“This new Age of Apocalypse book does the impossible – it revolutionizes an old concept without a reboot,” explains Senior Editor Nick Lowe. “If you’ve been reading Uncanny X-Force, you know where this is coming from and you’re already in. If you’re an Age of Apocalypse junkie, this builds on the alternate universe’s mythology is fascinating and troubling ways. And if you aren’t either and just want a ground-breaking, easy-entry book that will challenge everything you know about the X-Men, there hasn’t been a better jumping on point.”

Can anyone stop the evil Weapon X and who are the X-Terminated? Find out in Age of Apocalypse #1, with a cover by Humberto Ramos and Dean White that no fan can miss, hitting comic shops everywhere and the Marvel Comics app, this March!

Could somebody explain to me how Logan winds up a badguy HERE when he was a hero in the original mini-series.

Art does not look very impressive in this preview, but I like the writing team.

@skidz
You have to read Uncanny X-Force - Dark Angel Saga for the full explanation. Good story that I don't want to spoil for you.

@ Knight3000
AoA PETER PARKER is dead in AoA, if I remember correctly. Just noted as dead in the original series. (like i said, can't remember correctly though)

AoA MAGNETO shows up in the Uncanny X-Force - Dark Angel Saga. But uh, you might be disappointed in his status now....

AoA NATE GREY has been back in 616 for a couple years now after dispersing his presence to the world in his own series back in the day. He recently resurfaced in New Mutants and is on that team now with a fraction of his power.

When he came back Osborn's dark X-Men got him and Sugar Man put him in a machine that powered a de-mutating machine. Later he had him tied to the same machine but used it for other purposes. When the New Mutants rescued him he was burnt out and has yet to recover his full power even though he's recovered enough to be on their team.

****SPOILER**** for those who have not read the Dark Angel Saga but plan to...(preludes this article's story)

Magneto and Rogue (AoA versions) made a desperate attempt to kill AoA Wolverine (the new Apocalypse in the AoA universe) and basically got their asses handed to them. They are both dead.

As far as Peter i believe in a random issue of the original AoA arc it just had a page that simply stated the whereabouts of random heroes that you didn't see as major players in the story. I think he was just listed as dead and it gave some brief description

I don't see that red guy in any of the X-Terminated stuff so far so I can't say for sure. But based on what the X-Terminaters do, I don't see them having a problem with Daredevil so it might just be a soldier or something.

I'm a little conflicted here. On one hand, AoA is one of my favorite mutant stories ever. On the other, I see the same crass and manipulative marketing at work that is behind the Watchmen prequels. This is Marvel's grasp at trying to make a few cheap sales by exploiting one of its greatest stories.

Now, I do see this as DIFFERENT from the Watchmen prequels in that several writers worked together to bring us AoA. It's similar in that I wonder why we really need to revisit it. I am a fair-minded person, so I guess I'll have to look this over when it comes out and judge it based on what's actually in the story. Don't like the art at all though. Too cartoony.

AlcoholicA, you're good people. Can't begin to tell you how many times I have asked someone a question and all they responded with was don't worry about it you can just jump right in to this book. You actually know your stuff and will share information with others. Thank you.
