Marvel has made it clear that their new Guardians of the Galaxy series is accessible to anyone hoping to learn more about the team before they make their live action debut next year, but four digital comics are now also being released in order to offer fans a chance to get to know the characters a little better. Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Comics is written by Brian Michael Bendis and pencilled by Michael Avon Oeming, and it takes full advantage of the digital format as did the Avengers Vs. X-Men specials that Marvel release last year. "They are very unique individuals but there’s something very classical about them as a group, like Robin Hood and his Merry Men, like Firefly, like Han Solo and Chewbacca," Bendis says of the team. "The Guardians are characters that have risen above their terrible upbringing and have chosen to do something worthwhile in this lifetime. That makes them heroes. The fact that they are so unique, the fact that most of them are one-of-a-kind, makes them all the more heroic." The first issue is now available to download and a selection of artwork from that can be found below.
